5 in. Backer Pad

This is for use with the new Ryobi cleaning tools. It does not attach to a drill. Attachment is by a screw that appears to be a 1/4 20 thread. The surface is covered in the loop part of Velcro and holds the various cleaning heads, (sponge, polishing pad, etc. Like most Ryobi products, I suspect this will work fine, my only concern is the mounting screw seems a little short, but I believe Ryobi would have already addressed that if it were a problem.

This works exactly as I expected. The backer pad came undamaged which is always appreciated as the hook and loop sometimes gets damaged in shipping and doesn't grip as well as it should for as long as it should. It came with a thread protector on the arbor which is great. All in all I am happy with this product and would recommend it. It feels sturdy and I look forward to using it.

This 5 in. hook and loop backer pad is compatible with the PBF100 Dual Action Polisher and most polishers with a 5-1/6 in. - 24 spindle size. This is a great replacement for when it's time to upgrade your backer pad. Most 5 in. foam polishing pads can work with this backer pad. This is a hook and loop attachment style for quick pad changes. This is a replacement accessory for the 18V ONE+ PBF100 5 in. Variable Speed Dual Action Polisher. This pad measures 1'' in Height and 4.80'' diameter. This can be used for car polishing and can be put on a grinder, sander or a polisher. This does have an arbor thread of 5/16''. i do not have the Ryobi Grinder that this can attach to but I can use it on my drills with the right angle feature and that will work fine for me. To be clear I thought htis was just a Backer Pad like it said in the description but this is a backing pad for a polisher and I did not know that ahead of time. If you have that Ryobi Angle Grinder this is just what you need. It seems like really good quality so I would recommend to people who have that polishing grinder.

The shipment was not as described (3-piece cutting pad set). I received a polisher backer pad that I expect is what the cutting pad set attaches to. What I received requires a tool that accepts a 5/16"-24 arbor size and I do not have that. I was hoping the set would attach to my Ryobi random orbit sander or my Ryobi buffer. It is not compatible with either. It has a "hook and loop" surface that will accept sandpaper and seems to be a quality construction. However, I cannot recommend this product since I cannot use it as shipped. So my review is a mixture of seeing a quality product, but not being able to test it. Maybe if I had the grinder pictured on the product, then I could test it.

I have these pads and the backer pads and will use them on my Right Angle drill. They go together perfectly. I have a DA sander which I will use for the finer grits and use these pads for the rougher sanding. I can adjust the speed on the drill in two ways and matched with the variable grit pads this should work out perfectly. I can adjust as the experience lengthens and I get more skilled. Ryobi keeps ahead of the needs.

The Ryobi 5" polishing pad is a good addition to your paint / prep tool bag.  This pad uses a 5/16 x 24 arbor and should connect to a pretty wide range of orbital and Dual-action sanders.  The pad is thick, but not rigid.  There is enough give in the pad to handle variations in contour across a workpiece without digging into the surface. The included washer is useful when working with different size arbors. And the cap is nice for covering the mounting threads when not in use so they don't get marred. Overall, a nice pad for an orbital sander.

For clarity purposes, the description of a polishing pad set is incorrect. What I have is the OEM 5" polishing pad REPLACEMENT for the Ryobi 5 Inch dual-action POLISHER. (See Photos) That being said, the replacement pad fits perfectly on the Ryobi polisher, which stands to reason because it IS an OEM replacement product. No worries there, if you have the Ryobi Polishing unit. I believe this will fit a few other units as well, but I can't say for sure. Since these backing pads wear down from time to time it's nice to know you can get your hands on a replacement easily. These work really well, by the way. The loops on the pad grasp the polishing pads very nicely and are no trouble to deal with at all. So, the Ryobi polisher is a great product, the replacement backing pad fits perfectly, and polishing pads work great with the tool. It's a success all around.

I ordered this wheel to mount on my Porter Cable dual action polisher and it fit and worked great! Just what I wanted.
