Best bang for your buck
I have a fiberglass repair shop. I shape with grinders from the best air vacuum grinders, die grinders, and electric grinders. I've used the ryobi grinders for 20 year as a business owner. The early blue colored grinders wouldn't last much more that 6 months to a year. That was still longer at $30 than the Hiltti grinder I paid $200 for and with in 8 hours went out. Got a replacement and it went out even faster. Its sitting in a pile with other grinders including old ryobi grinders that no longer work. Fiberglass dust is rough on motors and we'll grind sometimes up to four straight hours on big jobs. These newer green ryobi grinders last about a year. Even though they have a 3 year warranty I never take it. At the new price of 50 per I get my money's worth out of them. The best thing about this grinder is the trigger. When laying underneath a boat and grinding the trigger is safest. If you drop the grinder regardless of what you're grinding you let go of trigger turning the grinder off. Sometimes you just want it to stay on and it has a press pin, or button that keeps trigger depressed. For hand positioning this is ideal. Most grinders do not have this option, its either on or off. Hands down the best electric grinder ive used in my 30+ years of grinding. Its balanced well for an inexpensive grinder as well. Thats important when you spend a substantial amount of time with the tool on, to help prevent tingling in hands leading to permanent issues in your hands with over use. I worry they'll quit making these sone day so ive been buying them here and there.

My angle grinder sheared itself in 2 pieces...i could have really gotten hurt..it was my best tool until this happened...ill try and return it soon to see if i can exchange it...danny

Wasn't what I wanted, but ended up being what I needed
After doing some research for a replacement angle grinder, I came into the store for a different brand. However, that brand would not work with my current dust shroud because of a "quick release" style guard. This grinder was $10 cheaper, fit my dust shroud, and has a 3 year warranty. Bonus features are the twisty handle trick (not used, but cool to have just in case) and that I can attach the handle on top, as well as on the right/left side. The blade tool storage in the handle is not really that important to me as I keep everything in it's own canvas bag. But, it's a nice touch anyway. Overall, I like my purchase.

Durability from a brand you trust
I have used and abused this tool with cutting steel and concrete and it has yet to slow down. Changing the wheel is a breeze with the included tool. With the side handle it is easy to co tell while grinding or cutting. There are cheaper tolls out but none that will stand up to the hours of use this tool will. Make sure to pick up extra wheels while you're at Home Depot.

I have several Ryobi cordless tools and have been pleased with them for years. I need something to score about 24 landscaping 16x24" concrete paving stones. They are very hard and about 2" thick. Notches needed to be made on about 5-6 stones. The 4 1/2" grinding stone was not really the best but I was able to complete the project, only going through 2 of the wheels. That scoring plus wacking it with a hammer did the trick. (The instructions indicated that the tool was not designed to cut off the stone, but using the Masonry version, the scoring did the trip. No problems with the Grinder, I'll use it again on future projects.
I would not recommend for Commercial use, but for around the house needs it performed well.

Unfortunately mine may have been a dud? I used it for about 20 min, taking breaks every few min to allow everything to cool, using light pressure to clean the old paint off this steel rail. It started smoking, white smoke. I put it down, unplugged it let it cool. It still worked afterwards but I'm returning it. I don't think this motor should have overheated quite so easily, especially on such a light project. I'm a big Ryobi fan I have and love several of their tools. I might give this one another try or I might get another brand.

Great little grinder for home projects!! Cheap too!! I use this grinder for my welding projects to grind down welds, and cut metal I can't get with the chop saw. I also used it to cut and polish a marble slab that is now in my bathroom as a vanity countertop with backsplashes!!! Can't say enough about this little grinder!!
