Q:Are the motors for the blades sealed underneath and above the deck to keep grass & dirt out? Same question for the main drive motor.

Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Zorchmeier - Yes, the ingress protection (IP) rating for the deck and drive motors is IP65, so they are protected from grass, dirt, and debris. We hope this helps! Q:What is the gauge and the thickness of the crosscut blades? I'm very interested in purchasing this item, but the decision all comes down to the blades specs. Previous answer didn't really help.

A:  Hello, Zorchmeier - The blade is 2.5 mm thick, and the closest gauge size would be 12. We hope this helps! If you need further support, then call or text us at 1.800.525.2579, Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5 pm (EST), or through email when you visit us at https://www.ryobitools.com/support/contact.

Q:Use & Care (Operator's) Man Pg 17 says to remove "rocks/sticks/tree nuts..." before mowing to avoid Blade Damage, etc. At 74, can't always walk every foot of hilly 1.5 ac due to squirrel activity! Are blades that thin/weak? No need to do in prev 24 yrs.

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Zorchmeier - The manual does recommend that the lawn is clear of stones, sticks, wires, toys, tree nuts, tree branches, and other objects as these could damage the lawn mower blades or motor. We also recommend their removal as they can be thrown by the blade. We hope this helps! If you need further support, then call or text us at 1.800.525.2579, Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5 pm (EST), or through email when you visit us at https://www.ryobitools.com/support/contact.

Q:What is the lifespan of the batteries? How quickly will they go bad when stored in a shed that gets below freezing in the winter and over 100 degrees in the summer?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Brian - Thank you for your question. The battery life expectancy is 3-5 years. For battery pack storage longer than 30 days. Store battery packs in a 30%-50% charged condition. Store the battery pack where the temperature is below 80°F and away from moisture. Every six months of storage, charge the pack as normal. I hope this helps! Additionally, if you need further support, then a RYOBI Customer Experience Professional is here for you, Monday - Friday from 9 am to 6 pm (EST) when you call or text us at 1.800.525.2579 or through email when you visit us at https://www.ryobitools.com/support/contact. And thank you again for your interest in the 80V HP Brushless 42 in. Battery Electric Cordless Riding Lawn Tractor with (3) 80V 10Ah Batteries and Charger. - Joyce

Honest Purchasing and Easy of use Review.
BLUF: The lawn tractor itself is amazing. 5 stars all around. When ordering these save yourself the hassel and have it shipped to the store. I originally ordered this for home delivery to save myself the headache of having to go to the store to pick it up as the closest Home Depot is 30mins away. This was the first mistake. The original shipment was lost in transit (i work in logistics, and i have no idea how you misplace something this large and this heavy). After 2 weeks of no arrival, Customer service issued out a new delivery after forcing a refund and having me reorder the mower, was no longer on sale. The second shipment was lost again, after 1.5 weeks rhe carrier found it, shipped it all the way to chicago then determined that they had no way to deliver to a residence, not sure why this was a delivery option if this was the case. Customer service then cancelled the delivery without informing me because the item was shipped back to the factory saying it was refused. The mower was then reordered for delivery at the closet home depot. Upon inspection, this was the original mower that was lost in transit (it still had my original order number on it) the crate it was transported in was destroyed. The mower was full of cosmetic flaws from the broken wood banging and scrapping against the plastic. After over a month of waiting for an item that was supposed to deliver in 5 days I ignored the flaws as its likely it get scrapped and banged up through use anyway. The assembly was very straightforward and easy to do by yourself. (There is a video on youtube on the process.) The mower cuts beautifully, i have yhe bagging system to go with the mower, when using the cross cut blades you can chop and inch of the top of the grass and only fill half the bagger per .5 Acre. Very very fine shavings, would be perfect to go with the mulching kit. The front reciever opens up loads of opportunity of accessories, though as of this time there arent any. I made a makeshift mount to hold a craftsman snowplow on the front and it works great, would love to see a ryobi plow and a snowblower the would run as an accessory of the plugs for the mowing deck motors. Other accessories could do the same such a rototiller, scarifier, or wood chipper. Or most pto based accessories (obviously would need an electric converion for it). Did have an issue with a bad software update the killed the LCD, called ryobi support and they work quick to send out a technician and replace it, the mower still functioned without it. The is a back up alarm that is quite loud, arguably louder than the mower itself, it would be nice to have an option to disable this through the LCD, even if you have to do it everytime. Would stop people from opening the mower up to unplug the speaker. All in all fantastic product 5/5. Subpar customer service and delivery 1/5.

Electric mowers are easy to maintain
I’ve owned several Ryobi electric mowers, this is my first riding one. I just mowed my 1 acre lot for the first time. The mower rode like a truck, but handled the rough terrain well. It did not like the wet areas, but it did not get stuck. Easy to operated and has a pretty tight turn radius considering the length of this mower. I do have one pretty major problem with it, I bought it at a Home Depot and it had been sitting out in the Texas sun for a while. Fiberglass has broke down.

              won't start, customer service nonexistent
complete garbage. shipper dumped in the driveway blocking us in, and despite following the video instructions and fully charging the unit, it will not power on. initially, the unit powered on for about a second, lurched a little, then shut off. still off, despite full batteries. customer service recording says "our operating hours are 9am-5pm eastern standard time," but then tell you to call back during their business hours, whatever that means. even the chat support is offline. garbage.

                  Powerful mower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago to mow around house and use my big tractor for the rest of my 32 acres and wanted to really try it out before reviewing but I am very impressed and I am a petite female. I haven’t removed mower deck so can’t give feedback but it’s made well and pretty thick. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: Fast; turns very sharp almost like a zero turn; the forward/back petals are great and easy to use; very quiet and can mow around dairy goats and chickens with no issues; so many storage options but plenty of room for power & garden tools; charges pretty fast (under 2 hrs if battery is really low); have a lot of control when around fencing and delicate plants; blades cut grass great and looks professional. Easy to clean and I use blower on compressor to clean grass off of unit and out of electric motors; steering is awesome and easy to turn. Cons: Because it turns almost like a zero turn have to be careful as the tires will dig into lawn; range is not 2.5 acres but it will depend on terrain and speed of mower and blades you choose; blades are not the toughest and already notice some nicks; throttle is jerky as it’s very touchy (could be me) but hard to keep a smooth motion, but using cruise control eliminates this jerky motion. Expensive mower but Ryobi made a good product.

                    Nice but not perfect.
The quiet motors, the even grass cutting, the speed-maintained cruise control button are really nice features. Unfortunately, the shoulder bolt on the follower arm to the rear right side of the mower deck loosened up and fell off on my second cutting. My suggestion to the factory is to use a loctite application on this bolt/nut connection. Also, switch the battery connection to face inwards for easy charging!

                      Great machine
The ease of operation is great, plus the storage bins and cup holder are great additions. The bed is great for carrying tools or for picking up sticks while mowing. The storage tote under the hood, will be great for holding the hitch and other accessories. The throttle response is smooth, so I'm not being jerked around. The ability to adjust the throttle speed and blade speed is great. It is a well built unit.

                            Could maintain a golf course.
Just got my tractor the other day and couldn’t get wait to bust it out, early for a mow but I had to see what it could do. Power wise it’s all there and it’s quiet enough I can get this machine going at 6 am and no one’s batting an eye. My backyard is fairly uneven terrain and it handles it all like a wrangler. Could see some local courses getting these for their maintenance crews
