Convenient Charger
Any product that has an advantage over another one has my vote. This single charger has two ports to charge two batteries simultaneously. As I have many Ryobi batteries and several chargers, it is just easier to bring one charger and do both batteries at the same time. This model charges faster than the previous model, which is also a plus. As the Ryobi tool collection grows, so needs the charging conveniences. The tool that needs fast charging batteries is my garden cultivator. It requires more time than a larger rototiller and the batteries do not last through the whole job.

Excellent lightweight battery for so many tools! I recently realized that not every job I do needs the bigger 4 Ah battery - and working with a smaller battery like this has great power for most jobs, while making the overall tool, especially a drill, much lighter and easier to fit in tight spaces.
This 1.5 Ah battery has the LED charge remaining indicator light that I like so much on bigger batteries, and weighs just 14.6 ounces. I charged it from depleted to full in 30 minutes on a standard Ryobi single charger (see video time lapse). The 2.0 Ah battery needed a fast charger in order to charge in the same time period. This battery displays its charge progress as you’ll see in the video.
For run time, I ran a comparison between this 1.5 Ah (PBP002), a 2.0 Ah HP Ryobi battery (PBP003), and an older 2.0 Ah battery (3 years older, P190). For my test, I installed the battery in a Ryobi brushless 7.25” circular saw (P508), and simply timed how long the saw could run, with no load (no wood to cut) - just run flat out. This battery ran for 13 min and 41 sec, whereas the 2.0 Ah HP ran for 19 min, 26 sec, and my 3 year old 2.0Ah ran for 18 32.
Batteries are entirely about Amp-hours, Ah, so the 1.5 Ah is 25% less capacity than a 2.0 Ah HP, but ran about 30% less long that the 2.0 Ah HP battery. This 1.5 Ah battery weighs about an ounce less than the 2.0 Ah, so there’s just a small weight advantage.
I like this battery- it’s the one I keep in my brushless drill, ready to go for small projects and easy portability.

I recently ordered and received the RYOBI ONE 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1.5 Ah battery. The RYOBI battery pack is such a great time saver as you can use it for almost all their cordless tools. I have a couple of RYOBI chargers that I always keep “loaded” with a RYOBI battery. The new generation of battery pack has a LED indicator to let you know where you stand regarding the batteries current charge. For the sake of convenience and portability, you simply cannot beat RYOBI. The RYOBI brand is moderately priced and the three-year warranty on their battery packs is an excellent incentive to purchase the brand. In the many years I have owned various cordless RYOBI tools, I have only had one 18-Volt battery pack fail (not bad). I have included a few pictures below to show the size and style of the new generation RYOBI battery pack. I would and I do recommend their product as a frequent user.

I really appreciate the battery level LED meters on these newer Ryobi batteries. I still have one of the old Ryobi P102 batteries which doesn't have the LED battery level meter and I have to use an external Ryobi P150 plug in on top battery meter to measure the battery level. The older Ryobi P102 battery is about the same size as this new battery. The Ryobi P150 battery level meter is no longer available. I like that the LED battery level meter comes on quick!!! On some other brands the LED's come on one at time in sequence. The improvements in these newer Ryobi batteries are certainly appreciated.

This is a nice upgrade to the previous units. I have other Ryobi 18 volt batteries to compare this too and this is every bit as good as these but. This one has a battery charge meter in the form of lights on the front of the battery. Kinda nice push a button and you can see the amount of charge on the battery. It seems to be a little lighter in weight as well. I can't be exact as I didn't have a scale but it felt totally different in weight to me. Also in use it was as powerful and durable as the older units. Run time was as good or better being new.

I use Ryobi almost exclusively and the batteries are obviously an important part of the system. This new 1.5 AH battery is a great addition to the bigger batteries. there are times when I want a lighter tool and the 1.5 AH battery meets that need perfectly. It has the same state-of-charge scale on the front so you know how much juice you have left and he locking latches on the side. It really lasts well in most tools and reduces the weight of the tool significantly.

This review is going to require some explanation. Why would I say it is excellent quality, but only rate it as “good” (4 stars) and then not recommend it? Buying the standard 1.5 amp-hour battery is pretty much a waste of money when you consider that the 2 amp-hour battery is the same price. I will not deny the excellent quality of Ryobi batteries; I still have working batteries (P102) from my original purchase in 2015, and I have abused the heck out of them. You must know, though, that one charge may not get you through that little project. I have found that the high capacity 4 amp-hour batteries more closely suit my job requirements. That’s all.

I got this battery to use as a spare for my Ryobi ½ inch drill and ¼ inch impact driver set. Each tool came with its own 1.5 Ah battery, but I just like to have a backup in reserve. Fortunately, this Lithium-Ion battery is part of the Ryobi One+ system which has over 225 cordless tools that all work on the same battery platform, so I know I’ll have plenty of tools to use with it in the future.
The battery has a compact, lightweight design that is ideal for getting into tight spots and it doesn’t make the tools too heavy. It has a four-bar style an LED fuel gauge to show the level of charge remaining. My battery took 45 minutes to recharge from 25% to 100%. There are two quick-release buttons on the sides for easy removal when swapping batteries.
I am very satisfied with the performance and quality of this battery.
Ryobi One+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1.5 Ah Battery
Just received this Ryobi One + 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1.5 Ah Battery, and I have
already put it to good use with my Ryobi weed eater. I love the fact these
batteries will work with all my battery operated tools. In my opinion, it works
as well as my 2.0 Ah. It has a fade-free power and on-board LED fuel gauge.
This is perfect for any type job you have. Whether it's something that requires
manual labor. heavy-duty or whether it is small tinkering job. This is also the
perfect tool for crafting. I use the one I have often, and it never lets me down.
I highly recommend this 1.5 Ah battery by Ryobi to everyone. It comes with a
3-year manufacturer's warranty and includes a Operator's Manuel. This battery
measure 3.29” in height, 5.32” in length, 3.13” in width, and of course is a 1.5
Ah (amp hours). It is a Lithium-Ion and approximate charging time is 30 minutes,
You can also recharge this battery many times. Go online and take a look at it.
The Internet # is 314550744 and the Model is PBP002. Great price and another
great product by Ryobi. This also makes a wonderful gift.

RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1.5 Ah Battery NEW
RYOBI introduces the ONE+ 18V Lithium-Ion 1.5 Ah Battery. This battery features fade-free power and an on-board LED fuel gauge which is handy for checking remaining power…. I have lost track of how many Ryobi tools I have accumulated and this battery fits them all; don’t know if I will ever have all 225 tools this fits! This has a three year warranty, better than their old two year guarantee. My only complaint is that battery removal could be difficult. if you have small hands. These arrive in a discharged state for safety purposes.
