Great for a DIYer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this a month ago with intent of laying laminate floor throughout an entire home (about 1500 sq. ft). I have never done any flooring before. With some YouTube videos, this saw and a jig saw, I’ve completed about half the job just working some evenings and weekends. Super light and convenient to have in whatever room you are working on. Battery lasts a fair bit; more than adequate for a handful of hours and cuts. Ripping boards eats up the battery much quicker than cross/mitre cuts. My only complaints: 1. The fence for ripping boards has a minimum depth of 1 inch, so for less than that you need a jigsaw, circular saw or something else. 2. Swapping between the rip fence and the cross cut guard is a bit annoying screwing the securing head in and out. Same with the part that holds the board down.

    Very user friendly!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this saw a quick, easy access saw for cutting small pieces for projects for my job, and around the house. I've cut composite, plastics, plywood, and 3/4" lumber. I have a corded miter saw, and band saw. But this allows me the convenience and portability to move the saw where the project is.

      Best saw for flooring!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to do the flooring in my house instead of borrowing tools to get it done. Best decision ever! Making the cuts with this saw sped up the install and it looks great. I made a bunch of cross cuts and several rip cuts with a 4Ah battery and it still had plenty of juice left. Not too heavy and has storage built in for all the accessories. Well thought out! How about creating an after market part - a laser to shine a line for the cut. Just a thought.

        Flooring saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw is so convenient. I used it on a 1/2 engineered hardwood. It cut and ripped with ease. I used a vacuum attachment to keep clean up to a minimum. It’s very handy and lightweight for transport.

          Need to have for flooring!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was debating about getting this to redo our office floor. It made a HUGE difference and really made it a lot easier to cut and rip pieces. I wish the directions were clearer for set-up, but once I figured it out - away we went! (Maybe have a code scan on the box with a link to set-up video!?)

            Barn Floor Project
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were replacing our Barn (Tack Room) flooring after 20 years so when we settled on the Lifeproof Vinyl Plank Flooring I bought this saw. I had two Mennonite friends help with the project and as skilled craftsmen they were impressed with the saw. A huge time saver for us to get this project done. Accurate cuts, both straight and angles. Perfect for vinyl flooring with no bog cuts or damage to the planks.

I found this saw rather useful for laminate flooring that are very thick (1cm or greater). A lot of laminate flooring say all you need a sharp utility knife. This is not true for very thick laminates or laminate flooring with an engineered wood backing. The rip cutting function is useful for long narrow cuts. the miter cuts works really well too but I found myself going back to a traditional miter saw more often for angled cuts. What I loved: I generally liked the portability of this unit. Super light and easy to move back and forth. Everything is ready to go out of the box...saw blades and all. Also the unit was smooth and tight fitting so there wasn't any slop in their cuts or how it sets the fence. I also love the blade enclosure with the anti kickback safety device. At no time I ever felt my fingers were at risk. It's very well shielded. What I didn't like: The flooring saw blade could use a finer blade option for smoother cuts. There were slight chip outs...easily hidden by a baseboard so it's not a deal breaker. And one bigger issue is the fact that the rip cut fence will not set any closer than 1 inch to the saw blade...meaning the smallest rip cut you can make is 1 inch minimum. And my final dislike is the amount of dust it kicks out. The fine dust likes to cover the inside of the plastic shroud, making it very tough to see where the saw cuts are being made and where the saw blade is cutting if you are only making a partial rip cut. Is this a good saw? yes. Was it useful? yes, especially for rip cuts that need a long straight parallel cut. Is it perfect? No. Lots of dust. Can't cut rip cuts under 1 inch. And the dust made it hard to see where the saw blade is cutting for partial rip cuts. this is a first gen product. It could use some improvements. But it's hard to beat this saw compared to traditional laminate cutters.

Not for making many same sized cross cuts.
No movable side fence to make many same sized cross cuts because rip fence adjustment knob gets in way of saw. Miter marks not wide or long enough to set miter accurately. Will not cut a 2x4 as said by Ryobi employee in answered questions forum.. Cuts Formica without chipping. Very light. Slides easily when pushed along on laminate flooring to next cutting area. Now I can have a saw in the room instead of going outside for cuts.Limited review space.

                    Handy litle saw
I have two levels of laminate floors to install in my home and got this to facilitate installation. I haven't had the chance to use it yet, it's an ongoing project that probably won't get done until sometime this winter. I'm really looking forward to it and picked this particular saw because of the great reviews I've seen, so I expect it to perform very well.
