Cheap Junk by a Real person
Honestly, it is 100% cheap junk. It's not worth the time and money or takes to go and get it. The sandpaper is too short and doesn't stay on the sander probably because the cheap crap metal used as clamps that I would expect to see in 1984. The bag is utterly worthless and doesn't catch anything. I am taking this junk back and just doing it the old way, by hand, at least it doesn't cost me the headache this junk will cause you. Do not buy this!

Excellent All Around Value
For evaluation purposes, I did some sanding on a desktop that I'm planning to refinish. I used 80 grit to test removal of surface variations and the sander went through the existing finish right down to - and removing wood, levelling things out. Moving on to 120 and finally 180 (still on the existing finish) the result was a silky and smooth. The exhaust port hooked up easilly to my Rigid shop vac removing virtually all dust. The action of the unit is steady and feels good in the hand with no added pressure needed, eliminating fatigue. This sander doesn't have hook and loop adhesion for the sanding sheets which is ok, because there's no pad to change later. It's a single speed sander, but I find that even on my variable speed sander, I tend to use the same setting repeatedly anyhow. I personally didn't feel that this was a limitation. It's a high quality basic sander that does a good job. The hole puncher that it comes with isn't very great, however, but that's not an issue for me as I would buy pre-punched sand paper anyhow.

Powerful Sander!
I have long used a corded 1/3 sheet orbital sander. But the cord and dust make it less useful than my Ryobi 1/4 Sheet ONE+ Battery-Powered Dust-Less Sander. The ease of sanding a large piece without managing a power cord surprised me. The dust-less feature of this sander helps reduce the sawdust, but it is most effective on flat surfaces. I believe that getting the sawdust out of the way also makes the sander work more efficiently! For medium and fine sanding the amount of sanding power provided by the 4Ah lithium ONE+ battery is sufficient. Course/rough sanding may require more time, but it will get the job done, and do so without a lot of dust. Ryobi also included a hole punch plate to make ordinary sandpaper into dustless sandpaper. I cut a full-sized sandpaper sheet into quarters to test fit ordinary sandpaper in this sander, punched it with the plate, and tried it. The 9"x11" sandpaper cut into 4.5"x5.5" sandpaper fits this sander exactly. And with punched holes, it's almost dust free. Amazing! Highly Recommended.

I like this sander. It has a bag to catch sawdust - it comes with the battery and charger in this kit.
No cord to catch on when you are sanding your work.
That is a relief.
It fits the hand well and does a good job of sanding the project.
you need to have holes in the sandpaper to have the vacumn aspect work.
Don't know how difficult it is to find the additional sheets and what weight they come in.
The sheets are easy to install on the sander base, nice spring clamp.
need to be able to have say 80, 120, 150, 200 etc weight paper to do a project.
A part of the RYOBI ONE+ System tools that work on the same battery platform.
Kit includes an operator's manual.

A great sander with no cords attached.
The RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt Cordless 1/4 in. Sheet Sander is powerful, fast, and very convenient. It is so enjoyable to use a sander with no cords attached. This sander is one of many Ryobi tools that share the same ONE+ 18-volt Lithium battery. I have many tools in this family and love them all. This is the first cordless sander I’ve owned and love it. It uses a 1/4 sheet of sandpaper that can either clamp in for non-adhesive sandpaper or adhesive backed sandpaper with pressure sensitive adhesive backing that sticks to the cushion of the sander. Included is a plastic stand for setting the sander on so you don’t sit it on your finished project. This model is a tool-only meaning there is no battery but if you own other Ryobi One+ tools with batteries, the batteries are all interchangeable. The 18-volt Lithium batteries, in the One+ family, are long lasting and hold their charge well when stored. The product comes with 3 - 1/4 sheets of various courses: 80, 120, and 220 grit. Also included is a dust collector or you can connect your vacuum cleaner to it with either a 1-1/4” or 1-7/8” hose. The sander is powerful and rates a 14,000 Orbits per Minute speed. The on/off switch is conveniently located on the top front of the sander. The Operator’s Manual is in 3 languages: English, French, and Spanish. This is a great sander and I strongly recommend it. Awesome Sander For Home Owners
This is a great battery operated sander that will handle most home owners needs. The 4.0 ah battery and charger complete the kit. I like the the dust can be caught in a dust pouch or use a portable vacuum if you want to clean up more efficiently. The tool comes with three grits of sandpaper to get you started. I put the little sander to work cleaning up a piece of wood for shelving and it did a great job. The sand paper is easy to load and if you don't want to use the sandpaper with the holes then standard sandpaper will also work.
