If you need it...
I am putting in a threshold on an exterior door. I bought an off-the-shelf threshold which was 5/8" thick. I didn't realize that I needed to shave it down by about 50%. Picked up this baby on sale and it took off a good 1/4" after about a hundred passes (my first time ever using a planer).

Great features!

Time saver great leveler

This is an excellent planer, it's almost too easy to use! Pulled it out of the box, threw a battery in and a couple seconds later I had planed down a post that was sticking up too high for new deck boards. It's lightweight, powerful, and having no cord is amazing for using it on my new deck build!

Planer away from power outlet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great battery operated planer. Same battery as my other Ryobi tools. Have 6 batteries always charging in my wall charger. Just planed an interior door and fixed base of some Christmas ornaments. Did both without bothersome power cord. Have been replacing all my power tools with Ryobi. D see o have some of my adult children.
