Handles great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this and a diamond cut blade to undercut brick around my fireplace so that new vinyl floor planks would slide under brick to eliminate the need for shoe molding. It was a powerhouse and whipped through it like a hot knife through butter!! I had 19 linear feet to cut and it blazed right through it with no problems! Ryobi cordless power tools R A W K!!

GOOD QUALITY AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE
This grinder from Ryobi really suprised me from the time I opened the box it comes in till when I first squezzed the trigger to use the tool. The fit and finish is really nice and the strong motor that this grinder has comes to life when you pull the trigger. You can feel the torque the tool has compared to a previous grinder I had and other older Ryobi tools I have owned. Set up of this grinder is easily accomplished using the two post style wrench that slides into end of the handle for storage. The shield on grinder can be adjusted to fit your grinding, cutting and shaping needs by unclamping the toolless lock, adjust shield location and then re-tightening the clamp. I installed the included grinding wheel on tool to grind down end of galvanized fence posts I banged into ground to support a garden hose reel. This grinder did not bog down and removed sledge hammer dings effortlessly in a matter of 5-6 minutes which allowed me to pop the end caps on to posts. I have also installed a flap disc onto grinder to clean the top flat anvil area of a big bench vise that I own. I am very happy with this grinder and have plans to purchase metal cut off wheels to repair damaged bolts holding some large steel plate targets.

Cordless Freedom finally for my angle grinder needs
I've been using angle grinders for years. They're incredibly good for grinding down concrete and other Masonry Products as well as scoring Masonry Products. They're also absolutely fantastic way to cut steel such as rebar or other bars such as stainless. I'm a huge fan of Ryobi and use their battery system for over a dozen tools now. Adding this one to the collection was fantastic. I do like the fact that the wrench stores in the handle of the grinder. The handle quickly screws on and off quickly. The arbor accepts the typical masonry grinding thick wheels that are doomed as well as flat thin cutting wheels. Please see my images that show both. You simply flip over the arbor nut and you're all set. The power from this device is not quite cordless but certainly close enough. I use my angle grinder for cutting and grinding frequently for small jobs. If I were going to be grinding for a couple hours on end I think I would go for the corded. However 99% of the time I need to do a 15-minute project and don't feel like stepping all over cords. I have added a quick video for you to review. I needed to cut two concrete pavers in half. As you'll see in the video the first one I tried to cut too deeply and it was not necessary. The second one I scored it and the block immediately cut. You can see the power this item has. If you need an angle grinder and have the Ryobi battery system I highly recommend this tool.

    Cordless Freedom
This Ryobi battery powered 4 1/2 inch grinder offers freedom from corded models by removing the link nuts of where you can use it to grind multiple types of materials. It has more than enough power to grind sheet metal, common steel, iron concrete and masonry. The tool has female threaded attachment points for the handle to be attached on the right or left sides. The shield which protects the used from the blade and the subsequent dust and debris can also be rotated easily via a quick release clamp, to suit both right and left handed users. This tool comes without a battery, but uses the same battery as all of the tools in the One Plus system. The tool is hefty at approximately 6.18 pounds and the grinding disc spins at 6500 rpm’s. The tool that tightens the blade is stored in the handle, (see photo).

    GO GREEN OR GO HOME!!!
Now that every tool maker is going to the shared battery concept, I had to choose one brand to acquire the power tools I needed. When I looked into my work/storage space/workshop, I noticed that the color safety vest neon green dominated my corded tools. Thus my mind was made up already ROYBI of course! That is how I own this angle grinder. [ tool only in photo #1 ] So right out of the box it went to work. [video attached] I now keep it in the toolbox with my router. [photo #2] Very interesting thing the tool to mount the various disk is stored in the handle. It is also used to tightened the handle [photo #3] so keep it in it's storage space. Great buy if you are already in the Ryobi one+ system
This is definitely not the most powerful cordless grinder out there, but it's an excellent value. It basically costs as much as a battery. It's perfect if you already have some Ryobi One+ tools. This is pretty bare bones, but I'm okay with that. I don't need anymore cases. I use this more as a polisher and with a brush attachment for cleaning than I do cutting hardened metal, but it is capable. It's not as powerful or fast as my other cordless grinders. But for occasional or non-traditional usage, this is absolutely perfect. Especially considering the price. The guard is tool-less and pretty easy to move around as needed. The grinder has onboard storage for the wrench. It's comfortable to hold and use, and the handle can be installed in 3 different positions. It does chew threw batteries quickly, so for prolonged use I'd recommend at least a 4ah battery.

    Good portable grinder
I have a lot of experience with corded 4-1/2" angle grinders. I was in steel fabrication for 12 yrs and used many different industrial brands. I've also purchased several cheap brands for home use. This Ryobi cordless grinder works well. I use the 4 ah batteries for longer life. The revolutions per minute is pretty consistent with corded grinders. It is plenty powerful to get the job done. The weight without a battery feels good. The overall design is good. The only part of the design I do not like is the side handle is slanted forward rather than being perpendicular to the body. I am used to the handle being perpendicular so it is a little uncomfortable for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that it has a place to put the wrench on the handle very useful

      Great Tool!
I love the One + series of tools from Ryobi. I have many of the Lawn Tools as well as their hand tools, and the cool thing is they all use the same type of battery pack and it can be shared among all of them. This RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt Cordless 4-1/2 in. Angle Grinder may surprise those of you not familiar with cordless battery powered tools. It's very powerful and can put out up to 6500 RPM. The handle can be mounted left, right or top of the tool depending on the situation and user preference. And never worry about where the tool is for changing wheels because it tucks neatly into the end of the handle for storage and its always there when you need it. This item is tool only so if you are just starting your one plus line of tools, you may want to pick up the kit that contains a battery and charger or go for it and pick up a kit of multiple tools, a battery or three and a chargers

      Outstanding quality as usual
The RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt Cordless 4-1/2 inch Angle Grinder (Tool Only) is outstanding as usual. I own and use a number of RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt Cordless tools and this 4-1/2 inch angle grinder has proven to be a very useful and quality tool. The kit includes the 4-1/2 inch angle grinder, a reversible side handle and wrench, and a grinding wheel. What’s not included is a battery and charger, which was fine with me.
