Make short work of any wax job
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Relatively lightweight, easy to handle. This is the perfect tool for applying wax. No, it's not a polisher. It's probably underpowered for any type of compound. But to apply wax this is the perfect tool. First the pros:
I really, really like the design. When you want to put down the polisher just flip it over and it sits perfectly. This will keep dirt from getting on the pad. If you have larger hands you could probably hold it with one hand when doing the doors or lower fenders of your car.
Cons: as others have said, the included pads are junk. They're not elastic, but tie. Also, they're not terry cloth, more like wool. Great for polishing, but as mentioned it's a bit underpowered. Buy a set of polishing pads.
The other awkward feature is the on/off switch. Instead of being next to the handle, it's on the opposite side. Not a deal breaker, but I would have preferred it on the handle side.
Overall you can't really go wrong with this for applying wax. I was able to apply wax to my car in less than 15 minutes (admittedly it is a small car). I never ran out of battery power

6” polisher
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome buffer to get where the 10” buffer can’t, wish it did have a on/off switch instead of having to keep taking out battery to shut off. But also works great for body massage’s after a long day at work or work outs, especially with the white fluffy buffer applicator. Been using it that way for years and even a friend of mine uses them for deep tissue massage in his physical therapy clinic, he couldn’t get over how well it works and how it gets the heat to the muscles to loosen up. I definitely would recommend wether using to polish up your cars over the weekend or after a good workout to help loosen up sore muscles.

My wife bought this for Father’s Day for me to...
My wife bought this for Father’s Day for me to wax her SUV. It worked great! Easy to use. Light weight. Battery lasted for the whole job. Can use one handed. Got the job done in 1/3 of the time. Happy to add this buffer to my Ryobi collection.

Great basic polisher after moded
With pandemic isolation, I decided to detail my own vehicles vs. taking them to a professional. Hours and hours of studying YouTube videos on the products and processes then decided to order the Ryobi since I have a variety of their tools, chargers and batteries already. I wanted to use various densities of foam pads for polishing & buffing so attached velcro hook material on bottom foam plate of this polisher which works great. Only negative over more specialized DA polishers is not having variable speeds. Beyond that if you have the batteries and charger already, this works well and is a great value. Like any tool, time will tell if it holds up but should meet my demands of use for years.

Sub par for this buffer
On/off switch is realy junk , I thought that Ryobi would haver better desighn , would be better if they desighn it with a varible speed on/ off switch..

That being said, if you are a professional; go buy professional tools. If you are a weekend warrior, like me; this works perfect.
I have used it to polish and wax three different vehicles. Other than draining multiple batteries, it has lived up to all expectations.

First off let me say what this One+ Buffer isn't.. This isn't a high speed buffer.. They claim 40...
First off let me say what this One+ Buffer isn't.. This isn't a high speed buffer.. They claim 4000 rpm.. but that must have been measured under no load in a helium chamber on the moon..
Your more likely to get 400 rpm under load when applying wax or buffing it off. If your a professional detailer, you probably wont like this buffer.
So who is this product for?
This is for the average guy that applies wax by hand and buffs it off by hand. This tool is takes the elbow work out of waxing your car. The included applicator and buffing pads are ok. You will want to invest in some better pads.
The buffer is a bit on the heavy side, especially with a 4 Ahr battery in it.. Not a big deal when buffing the hood, roof, and trunk. But your hand and wrist will get tired fast on the sides of the car.. Luckily Ryobi has engineered in a handle into the body of the buffer.. So using two hands on the sides of the car is pretty effortless.
The body of the buffer feels well built and sturdy.. No flexing.. You don't get a lot of vibration from the dual action buffing. And it is pretty comfortable to hold with one hand.
The size is a bit big bigger than I was expecting. I was expecting the size to be like the random orbital sander that is in the ONE+ lineup.. Its not.. Its a lot bigger, but still not too bad to hold.
The on off switch is easy to get to and flip off and on, and the pad stops quickly so you can add buffing medium and get back to work.
One design flaw is the battery compartment is recessed in to the body.. The battery sits down so far you cant get to the button to check the battery power.
But I waxed and buffed my whole car with a 4 Ahr battery and still had 3/4 battery left.. So you don't really need to check it anyhow.
Overall I like this buffer.. Not sure why Home Depot doesn't stock it in their stores.. But I would recommend this buffer over hand waxing your car, boat, truck, etc..
