A: Yes. It shouldn't be a surprise. The battery makes it weigh more. But it's still light to use.

Q:Will this looper cut through Bamboo?

Answer This Question
A: Let me start with - I’ve used the lopper for a lot of pruning- but not actually on bamboo…That said : it should do fine ; I’d be especially careful to do a “true” cross cut (right angle) and avoid the joints.. it’s a great well made tool, and just about takes the “work “ out of the chore.

A: Hello, Bamboo - Thank you for your question. This would depend on the thickness of the bamboo. This product has a 1 ¼” cut capacity. If the bamboo is 1 ¼” or less then this tool would be perfect for this application. I hope this helps! Q:The blades only open less than an inch so how is it supposed to cut a 1-1/4" limb?

Answer This Question
A: The blade opening is an inch (slightly more). I have cut through a 1 3/4” branch working my way in sections (outside, middle & then outside).

A: The opening on the cordless Ryobi pruner that I purchased is 1.25". It works outstanding.

A: It works perfectly for me. I use to trim a bush outside my house that can get as tall as 10 feet high with thick branches. And an inch and a quarter width? That's not even considered too much for this device to handle because 1.25" is not that thick of a branch.

Battery & Charger
Cheap battery & charger.
Battery has no led indicator lights Letting you know the status of charge.
Tool works great.
I have purchased many Ryobi tools 18 volt & 40 volt.
Never received a cheap battery like this.
Will think twice about purchasing combo again.

Amazing cutting ability
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tool a couple months ago because nerve damage in my hand makes it difficult to use a manual pruning tool. I couldn't believe how well this tool would cut through 2 inch branches. I pruned 5 crape myrtles 10 shrubs and 12 rose bushes in very little time and didn't need Tylenol for my hand. It also provides a couple feet of reach

Needs new Sheath
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] See page ii of instructions. Figure 1 shows the sheath. Figure 2 shows how to assemble the Lopper by attaching the branch hook. It became immediately apparent that after you attach the branch hook that the sheath would not cover the Lopper head with the branch hook attached. You would either have to remove the branch hook after each use or a new sheath is needed.

Flabbergasted
Bought this fabulous tool through the Paris, Texas store about 10 days ago. Upon opening the box was so pleasantly surprised at the lack of assembly. There is included a small branch hook to aid in pulling down branches that have lodged in the tree and it only takes 2 small screws to install this handy addition. Since we have numerous 18+ Li-Ion batteries, I shoved in a 4 Ah battery and this work-horse was ready to ramble. Firstly, I was amazed at the weight with battery which is about 5 pounds. We both love this feature as it is so lightweight. Enough on the weight! We took this masterpiece of labor saver outside looking for large limbs to remove up to and including the rated 1-1/4 inch size. Found one on a mid size hickory. I pulled the trigger and had to step to the side to escape the falling branch. IT WORKED! This initial branch was the full size for the cutters and even had to force it into the cutter. After this I found a similar limb on a white oak and the results were the same. After this playing with this new tool for several more cuts we took it back inside and tried to charge the battery. After just a calculated minute the charger shut off and the meter had all 4 bars showing.
Fast forward to the 22nd day of June 2021, we loaded all tools onto our golf cart and began a serious workout for this new tool. Again a 4 Ah battery as we had a lot of pruning and brush removal to do. A freeze in February of 2021 killed all above ground limbs on 12 old established Gardenia bushes and all deadwood had to be removed. Also, there were 3 large, to 7 feet tall, Loripetelum, or Pink Fringe bushes that had to be cut back to ground level. In the course of 2 hours we made over 300 cuts with the lopper never having to get another battery. Please understand that we also had a power saw to cut through the larger trunks near ground level. After going back to the shop and placing this 4 Ah battery on the charger we were amazed to see that there was still power in the 4th meter window. Took only a few minutes to full charge the battery with the charger that came with the tool.
So, to sum up, This tool will extend the time we have in our home as we are in our late 70's for my wife and 84 for myself. This tool, the Lopper, has far exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is a review of the Ryobi P4362 18v Lopper. I was intrigued by this item as I do lots of tree and brush trimming. It can easily handle anything that fits in between the jaws of the tool. The 2 Amp hour battery lasts a long time, and the small size makes the tool easy to handle. My only real complaint is how painfully slow it makes a cut. One unexpected thing I really like about it is that it makes trimming branches about my head much easier.

This works great for the larger branches, but is a little slow for the tiny branches. The tiny ones you should use a manual lopper. It is a bypass lopper even though in the pictures it doesn't look like it.
The cover for the blades is too small to cover all of the cutting head. Because the blade is left open, it would me nice if the cover fit to keep you from accidentally cutting yourself on the blade.

The Ryobi One+ 18V Lopper does one thing and does it well. The kit comes with Bypass Lopper, blade sheath, branch hook, 2Ah battery, and charger. I find it immensely easier to prune than with a manual lopper since you don't have to make clearance for lopper handles, just reach straight in through brush or other branches, fit it over the place you want to cut, and squeeze the safety and trigger. The lopper makes the cut and releases automatically so you can just move to the next cut. The cut cycle time is under 3 1/2 seconds but you can move on as soon as the cut phase completes in less than 2 seconds. The blade sheath helps protect the cutting blade from damage but will not fit over the branch hook if that has been attached. The branch hook only requires two small Phillips screws to attach. I have been triming downed branches both to produce kindling and to prepare the branches for cutting to firewood or feeding to a chipper. The Ryobi Lopper is a bit of work to handle at a little under eight pounds but you avoid fighting brush to get a manual lopper in to the cut point and eliminate the struggle to cut through tough branches. Overall I find it a lot less work than a manual lopper and I am looking forward to pruning my dwarf fruit trees with a proper bypass cut while standing on the ground. The lopper is just over two feet from grip to cutter so add that to your reach height to get a maximum cutting height. There is no extension so perhaps that could be on a future wish list.

It's great for some of those branches that I can't myself reach, I'm not very tall so this a great help for me. I don't really have any complaints, besides I wish it would extend.. if it does I couldn't find anything anywhere to show me how. I've only used it on plants now (not very lively in the middle of winter) and it's worked great with little effort on my part. I'm always worried that power tools will be to heavy, especially when I'm reaching up with them but this one isn't bad. I was able to get a lot done before my arm got tired lol. I have not bought anything else like this so I'm not sure it's standard but I absolutely love the cover over the blade and the safety trigger.
It DOES COME WITH A BATTERY AND CHARGER, I say this boldly because I learned the hard way you have to watch out and make sure.
