          Easy to use
Handy to grab this scrubber when needed so our concrete won't get as bad as we let it. Our outdoor carpet left a stain that needed a good scrubbing. My initial test was just with water. The scrubber dug out the deep dirt staining the patio concrete. This scrubber did a better job when soap was used, too. The result isn’t a perfect, new-looking concrete surface because we have wood-stain splatters, pressure washing streaks, etc. But, it’s so easy to use we’ll be able to keep up with the mess the rains leave. The design includes an attached squeegee to help direct the dirty water to where you need it. We don’t have a wood deck, but I’m sure it would do a good job. The long-established black algae on our north walkway required hard scrubbing with a wire brush.

          Excellent Scrubber
Up here in the upper left corner of the lower 48, we have a pretty fair number of soggy weather days. The result, of course, is a constant fight to keep mold and mildew from covering nearly every surface. So, I'm always looking for a product that will make that task a little easier and more efficient. This Ryobi 18V One+ Cordless Outdoor Patio Scrubber should prove to be very useful. It does a very nice job removing surface dirt and mildew from a variety of surfaces. So far I've tried it on asphalt, concrete patio pavers, and wood decking and it has worked well all around. Throw down a little soapy water (add a little bleach if the mildew is heavy), snap in the rechargeable battery, and go to work. Progress is pretty fast despite the smallish brush width. The drive motor is plenty powerful and doesn't bind up, although the owners manual recommends not pulling the scrubber back toward you while under power. This is likely to avoid overloading the motor. The brush appears to be durable and is easily removed for cleaning. One great feature is the adjustable shaft, so the working length of the unit can be customized to the user. Battery and charger are included. This scrubber is much quicker to set up than my pressure washer, cleans at about the same rate, and is kinder to surfaces. I'll be using it often - highly recommended

          Works great on sidewalks.
This brush works great for cleaning debris that the blower can not handle, or if you need better control then you get with the blower. I have a tree that drops berries on the sidewalk. They get stepper on, and don't blow off. With this brush, it gets the berries off, and just leaves a stain. I also used it to remove dirt from around the new flower bed. I did not want to use a blower, as it scattered the dirt in the bed, and just made things worse. This did the trick. I want to try it in show this winter, and see how it does on stairs. With the adjustable handle, I can make it shorter then the power snow shovel, letting me moniver it better.

An outstanding tool for cleaning outdoor surfaces.
My wife and I are very happy with our current RYOBI tools and this 18-volt battery operated patio cleaner is no exception. Every few years we need to clean our concrete driveway and sidewalks as a result of dirt/stain buildup from surrounding trees. We do not use a pressure washer since it damages the surface layer of the concrete no matter how careful you are. As a result we clean the surfaces by hand with stiff brushes and a bleaching agent for cleaning concrete. This effort would normally take ten plus hours. This new patio cleaning tool has now reduced the cleaning time to only a few hours and a lot less effort. This tool makes quick work of bringing up embedded dirt and stains. The patio cleaner is easily assembled without the use of tools. In our opinion, this patio cleaner should provide many years of service if you follow the guidance in the well-written and illustrated Operator's Manual. See attached photographs. Well-done RYOBI!

          Ryobi patio sweeper
Well I am at odds with this Ryobi patio sweeper with 2ah battery and charger, was very easy to assemble and the side buttons work like taking a battery out of your Ryobi tool. I was excited to test out and soon turned to puzzlement, it throws what your sweeping at your feet and with the plastic brushes really doesn’t do all that much. Being a huge Ryobi guy I decided to investigate a little further about this Ryobi Sweeper, I see they will be coming out with 2 other heads for this sweeper that scraps patio stone and wooden deck surfaces. So will hold off further any final decision on this Ryobi Patio Sweeper till then, like I said I am a big fan with over 175 tools including batteries and other accessories, but this is the first time I am complex about a Ryobi tool and the need for it. So at this time I will reserve my recommendation of this sweeper till other heads are available, then give a better ( hopefully) update.

Light and only pushes a small amount of loose dirt
I got this and was hoping I could use it the clean my massive brick sidewalks and patios from moss and general dirt stains. Well it does not work very well for simple reasons. One its too light, its too small, and the brush is not stiff enough to clean stains from dirt from the bricks. The unit itself runs nicely and might work better for a small wood deck, but for bricks or concrete or asphalt it really cannot do much of a cleaning job.

Hello, msd - We are sorry that you're having an unsatisfactory experience with the edger sweeper's performance! If you would, try getting the surface area you're cleaning wet as this will provide a deeper cleaning. Hopefully, that'll make this experience better for you! Also, please be looking for an email from us at Reviews@RYOBItools.com. It would be great to connect and see if there's anything else we can do to help leave you with a positive experience. loosens up heavy soiled areas
This was very easy to put together and take apart to clean the brush off. There is a latch to extend the length of the sweeper and has a handle to install with a metal bolt and plastic wing nut that were loose in the box. I did not see the brush as being a replacement part yet, There is information on one side of the brush ( Ryobi en10832 940/min) hopefully replacement part number in the future. I have several areas that need to be cleaned on a daily basis because of our free-range animals This does help loosen soiled areas on cement the follow up with my blower to remove the rest. I tried an area in the back where some moss had built up against the wall, It did a great job loosening it so I could blow it off. I hose down an area and tested I then hose it off again and there was a difference in the color of the cement. This is a convenient product to use so I don't have to haul out the pressure washer.

This is a hige time saver, works great.
I am going to go over some features and specifications of this tool and then share my person experience. I love this this patio cleaner. This tool comes with a 2ah 18v battery with an LED fuel gauge. It also includes a handle, battery charger, and operator's manual. The sweeping width is 6.3". The bristles are 1" in length. The brush diameter is 4". This unit only has one speed and rotates up to 935 RPMs and weighs 8.6 lbs. This patio cleaner has a telescoping hieght adjustment so it will work for short or tall people. There is a lockout button you must press before you engage the trigger. Once you pull the trigger you can release the lockout button and the cleaner will still stay powered on. When I first pulled this out of the box I noticed there is some assembly required. It is very easy to assemble and the peices click in the same way the battery does. The bristles are very firm and rough. Adjusting the height is very simple, you just pull the clip out to release it and then push it back in to lock it into place. The main reason why I wanted this unit was because I have alot of cracks in my asphalt. It takes me hours crawling around picking out all the grass and weeds that grow through. After assembling this unit I went straight to my back yard and attacked those cracks. This thing worked wonders and saved me hours. I will attach some photos so you can see the results. I was able to do it all in under 5 minutes. I am going to get alot of use out of this tool. If you have coble stone or cracks that grow weeds I suggest you give this thing a try. I took out my grill grates and scrubbed those down with this machine before pressure washing them. This is not just a patio cleaner, it makes a great scrubber for anything that can handle the hard stiff bristles. It worked great for me so far on wood, cement, asphalt, and metal. Basically it works great on any hard surface. I have not tried it yet but I was thinking about using this tool on my car mat to get a coffee stain out. I'm not sure if this will be too rough for the carpet but we will find out. I am going to try and make a video review of this tool soon.

wanted to like it but a bit weak and a bit small. not one of the better Ryobi tools.
I got this to try because I have concrete patios in the front, rear and sides of my house and thought perhaps this would be a good way to give them an occasional going over with more than a leaf blower or push broom but with less hassle than pulling out the pressure washer. However it is a bit small for the job if you have large patios. It also goes through the small battery it came with very fast and bogs down and cuts off if you apply any pressure on it. I do have other batteries so I can work around that. I suppose it would be OK for small jobs like a small bit of sidewalk or if you are just knocking off some very loose stuff like moss and are not trying to get it real clean. But I have a lot of sidewalk and I just don’t think it is up to the job for that (30 feet or so of front sidewalk and maybe my 60 feet or so of back sidewalk). The brush seems well made enough and on a smooth surface it cleans marginally well with just the weight of the sweeper. But it’s just not for the big jobs or for any very irregular surface. I do have some flagstone steps that are pretty flat and it did a so-so job knocking some dust off them breaking it up where it would be blown off easily with a blower (but a garden host would have done as well if not better at the task). On the whole I’m afraid I new this is more of a novelty item. I love almost all of my Ryobi 18V tools but I’m afraid this one was a little bit of a bust. Nice try Ryobi. The concept is good but I think this one misses the mark a bit. It’s just too weak. I’ll probably eventually find a use for this but it won’t be cleaning my patio. It just won’t take much off the surface.

Saves water by replacing a pressure washer for many jobs
It scrubs hard so I don’t have to. We used to use a pressure washer to clean the brick patio at our old home. but we moved to a semi-desert area. A pressure washer uses too much water for use here. This patio scrubber would have worked great, stripping the moss off the bricks in our old home, but I wasn’t certain that it was the right tool to tackle the tire marks on our driveway. I attached some photos to this review. Using it dry didn’t make much of a visible difference. However, when I added a few ounces of a water solution with about 10% simple green, the difference is amazing. It works great. I justified ordering this because I plan to seal another section of our back patio. We sealed all our pavers about 6 months after they were installed, but there is still a concrete section of patio outside our laundry room. The concrete is heavily tinted brown so it looks great when it is wet, but its kind of boring when it is dry (which is 99.8% of the time). That’s why I want to add a sealant and the first step is a deep clean. However, I won’t start that project until early spring. I got this patio sweeper now, in the fall, because I want to clean our driveway. We installed a 75 gallon deckbox at the bottom of our driveway because we don’t want delivery vans using our driveway. Unfortunately, one carrier just seems to love tooling around in her little jeep because she ignores the box and drives up our driveway whenever she has a package for us. I don’t know where she learned to drive, but every time she needs to turn the steering wheel, she stops! Her jeep has the steering wheel on the right side so she doesn’t use the turn-around built into our driveway. Instead, she prefers to do a 5 point turn leaving big black marks every time she stops to turn the wheels. Our driveway was a mess. After just a few minutes of work, our driveway looks 80% better. The lines are now mere shadows of the old, thick, black tire marks. Also, the 2 Amp-hour battery lasted longer than I did. I do recommend having a spare, charged battery ready when working on a larger job, though.
