A:  Hello, Brenda - Thank you for your question. I am sorry, no. This is the weight of just the tool. All batteries weight a different amount. Makes pruning easier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have lots of trees and shrubs that need regular pruning and trimming. Today I used this saw to prune some rose bush stems (up to 1/2-inch dia.) and to cut off some dead cedar tree branches (up to 1-inch dia.). The saw weighs three pounds nine ounces with the blade and battery. It has a strong variable speed motor, and the new blade was very sharp. There is a branch hook which helps hold the branch against housing to help reduce vibration as the blade reciprocates. The saw cut quickly and made nice clean cuts on the stems and branches I was pruning.

Great hand held reciprocating/ pruning saw
Cordless 18V reciprocating saw you can use with one hand. Has cool pruning hook (removable) to lock in up to 3" branch size or use on a piece of wood. Use it to cut either branches or wood with ease as it is much lighter & more nimble than heavy two handed saws. Comes with battery, quick charger & blade. User manual is easy to understand. Reviewed the instructions, charged battery & immediately began using it. A must tool if you need maneuverability when cutting.

Each Job Has Its Own Tool
Every job will have its own tool. I looked at this and saw it is a reciprocating saw. It comes with a small blade. There's a spring-loaded bracket to place over the branch to keep it held closely to the saw and not vibrate. This works nicely on the branches that are going to vibrate but not all do. It's a little fussy to work with. If you want it can quickly be removed. I wondered if this saw is a big advantage over a regular cordless reciprocating saw. So I tried it out and it worked OK. I think the blade it comes with is, as already stated, small. I suppose they save a few dollars on each unit by making this tiny blade the one that comes with the saw. Luckily, standard reciprocating saw blades fit this saw. It has a nice twist lock chuck for holding blades on the saw. I switched to a blade I had that is called a pruning blade and it has much more aggressive teeth and faster cutting than the supplied blade. It's a decent saw and if you're on a suburban or city lot and want to trim your rose bushes or shrubs it is a good tool. Larger trees and yards with many trees would probably be better served just using a standard reciprocating saw. The regular reciprocating saw has more torque. This saw seemed a little slow at times.

                Solid tool....but.
As far as the tool is concerned it's a nice working tool. It functions as it should, the battery charges fairly quickly and while maybe not the right sized battery for this type of tool it is sufficient. Looks and good the only down side to it is having to trip the safety to operate it. Now this tool works but it's just as easy to use trimming shears at a fraction of the cost, unless you have a bunch of 2-3" branches to prune this will be an over reach. The hold down jaws are actually more of a hinderance than a help. The tool works good just not sure if it is a need since it doesn't save much time or effort as compared to pruning shears.

                Tuned to Prune
I have a real nasty Texas Ebony tree in my front yard and every year my wife and I battle it out to trim this tree. It stabs us with its thorns, we cut off some limbs, back and forth we go. Regardless of what we do, every year this tree seems to grow back stronger than ever and we accept that we have to sacrifice a weekend to get it back into shape. We use hand saws, loppers, and hand trimmers, which require a lot of hand labor. I was quick to jump on this cordless reciprocating pruning saw to help our workload out a bit. This is a great Ryobi tool simply for it's interchangeability. I have a host of other Ryobi tools and it's an easy swap out with the 18V batteries and chargers to keep going on whatever job you have. I really like that feature about Ryboi and continue to purchase their products for just this reason. This tool comes with a next generation 18V lithium battery, a charger, and the saw blade. Now let's get into this pruning saw's capability. It's light and easy to use, even with the battery attached. Install of the blade was easy and I got to cutting immediately. There's a serrated clamp on the front of this tool and I highly recommend you use it. I tried to cut through some limbs without using it, and the saw ends up shaking the limb as you increase the speed until it rattles you like crazy. It held the limb in one tooth of the saw and kept pushing and pulling the limb back and forth against the housing of the tool, but not cutting. The issue is, you have to use two hands to set the clamp on the limb, and then change hand positions to hold the tool with safety switch and trigger to use it. A little awkward to keep switching hand grips, especially when you're up on a ladder and sometimes in a precarious position, and also time consuming. I struggled a little bit to increase the tool speed with the trigger, but you will know when it goes to full speed as it starts to cut much better once the saw's teeth are deep in a limb. This tool was able to cut through 2-3" limbs, but it wasn't always as easy as I'd like it to be, and in some situations the hand saw is just a better way to go. I don't suggest trying to use this on smaller twigs or growth, but would recommend a hedger at that point. In the end, this tool did its job and helped take down a lot of branches, including some thick palm fronds, but it could use a little improvement in the clamp design to make it a one handed, more sturdy operation.

This is the pruning saw you want! Fast, cordless & one-handed operation!
This is my review of the RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless Reciprocating Pruning Saw. The saw comes with a 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger. The battery has a built-in charge level indicator and the charger will accept any Ryobi 18volt battery. The Pruning Saw and battery are backed by Ryobi's 3-year warranty. The saw can be operated with one hand which makes pruning branches easier and much safer. You can hold on to both the branch and the tool at the same time. This Ryobi pruning saw has a removable branch hook that secures the saw to the branch while pruning. The branch hook also adds control and reduces vibration while cutting. The saw also includes a 6" blade. Another good design of this saw is that you can use any standard reciprocating (think "Sawzall") type blade in the Ryobi pruning saw. Using the saw was very comfortable because of the way the handle and main body are designed. The branch can be removed to get into tight spaces. It is important to note that this is NOT a DEMO saw! It will not stand up to that kind of punishment. It does, however do an excellent job cutting down branches and limbs up to 3". The saw has load sensing ability and it has a soft start motor. Those features will help the saw last for a very long time. The bottom line is, The Ryobi Pruning Saw is a tool worth having for keeping the yard looking great. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

The Ryobi Cordless One-Handed Reciprocating Pruning Saw is specialty tool you may want.
The Ryobi Cordless One-Handed Reciprocating Pruning Saw is specialty tool you may want. The saw is light weight and is easily handled with one hand. The provided 2.0 Ah 18 volt battery balances the power end of the saw nicely. The saw is equipped with a “branch hook” that secures the saw to the branch being pruned. In my first experience trimming a cedar tree, I found that you need to cut the branch at a 90 degree angle to keep the blade getting in to the “branch hook”. The “branch hook” is removable. To remove it , push both rectangular buttons on the “branch hook” and pull it straight forward. To remove the “branch hook” is not easy but it can be removed. For safety be sure to remove the battery before removing the “branch hook”. The “branch hook” will actually hold the weight of the pruning saw and battery (see pictures). The “branch hook” does reduce vibration to some extent while cutting a limb. The limit on the limb diameter is 3 inches. Blade changes are quick and easy with innovative rotating chuck design. Just pinch and rotate the chuck about 22 degrees to remove the blade. Repeat the action to install a new blade. I was able to use the “Pruning Saw” for about 45 minutes using the 2Ah battery. It still had a charge after this time. I filled two 95 cubic ft. trash bins from the cedar tree branches I trimmed on my first trial. The saw works well for what is designed to do. The “branch hook” works and does provide less vibration. An alternative to this saw could be a Ryobi reciprocating saw that can use a longer blade and has the advantage of multiple use alternatives. Ryobi has multiple reciprocating designs for single hand and 2 handed use.

                Great tool!
The RYOBI ONE+ 18V Electric Cordless Pruning Reciprocating Saw with 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger is a great tool! I have several other RYOBI ONE+ tools and batteries, both lawn & garden tools and power tools. I love that the batteries are interchangeable; the same battery will fit in any tool. This one is great for pruning trees and bushes. Lightweight so your arm doesn't tire. Battery lasts long and recharges quickly. If the battery dies before you are done, simply use another RYOBI ONE+ battery! As an added bonus, RYOBI has amazing customer service. I had a need to contact them (nothing wrong with the product, only my own 'user error' LOL) and they were extremely helpful and patient with me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
