Are spool caps they make now are bigger than when this model was release? I have #522994 A1 and all of the replacements I can find are #522994 B1. And the B1 model is too big. Where can I get the A1 model?
How long after charging do batteries last in each use
I don't remember maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of a hr. I also have a saw and other tools so I upgraded to a 4.0 amp battery . I got them on sale and they last a lot longer. Good luck and enjoy the ryobi line.

There’s someone nearby by selling old attachments (edger, tiller, strait shaft trimmer, and hedge trimmer) that went with a gas ryobi expand it model. I’d like to buy an 18-v ryobi trimmer that attaches to those.

Ordered online. Picked up at Store. Easy assembly, battery charged quickly, got the lawn trimming done. One BIG job was a back lawn gone wild. It cut down the foot high weeds and lawn with ease, allowing prep for a new lawn to be installed. Job was too big for a regular lawn mower for older do it your-selfers. Plan to use it frequently.

There is no easy answer to how much a replacement battery will cost you. You can always purchase a battery for full retail price. However, most of us buy batteries when they go on two-for-one sales, or Ryobi often has sales where you get a free tool if you buy a battery kit, or even if you buy a Ryobi tool you get free batteries. Ryobi often has sales of tools in kits including batteries. In any case, this LI battery should last you a minimum of 3 years (warranty period) and I still use some Ryobi batteries that are 8+ years old. Although I have more powerful trimmers, this is still my go to trimmer for most jobs around the house. It's the only trimmer my wife will use.

The replacement battery is $59.99
The Ryobi batteries start at $49, however for the trimmer I would suggest you get at least a 3amp to insure longer run time. Go to the HD website and search for Ryobi Batteries and it will bring up all they offer, any of the 18 volt will work.
