cuts great
This little saw cuts great. I needed to cut back floor tile that had been laid for many years. The included tile blade very easily cut the tile. Great straight lines. No chipping or breaking. Saw did shut off a couple times. Must have strained it. I took off battery then replaced battery back and it was ready ro go immediately. Its dusty, but i did not wet blade or tile. I cut dry and it cuts straight and easy. I got a dremmel blade for wood. I used it to cut wood countertop to fit a new oven. Saw cuts wood very easily. The only drawback are the 3 inch blades. But the smaller blades may help keep size of saw small enough to get into tight places. For me, i couldnt ask for anything better. Works like a charm.

    Wheel Guard Defect
I am a Ryobi one+ fan with about 20 of the tools in their lineup. Today I bought their 3” Cut-off tool at Home Depot in Sherman Texas. The tool has an adjustable wheel guard that allows you to set depth of cut. However, the clamp holding the guard bottoms out before securely holding the guard in place - only light downward on the tool will move the guard. As you can see in the picture below I had to add the Copper wire spacer to keep the clamp from bottoming out and to firmly hold the wheel guard. It seems like this will be a nice tool but I can only give it a one star rating due to the safety aspect of the defect.

The Ryobi One+ HP brushless cordless compact cut-off tool is a nice new tool in an extensive list of Ryobi One+ products. Already owning a full-sized angle grinder, I picked this handheld cut-off tool up to round out my set. Great for when the full grinder is just too much for a quick use. The box comes with the tool, instructions, and 3 different 3 inch wheels. 1 for metal, 1 for drywall, and 1 for tile. The compact and lightweight design feels great in the hand and provides a long usage without arm fatigue, even with a battery attached. Being able to fit into tighter spaces to make cuts is also a huge plus. The drywall wheel would be ideal for cutting out outlet holes, or cutting away damaged sections of wall for quick, easy repair. The tile wheel comes in handy for quick, smaller cuts when a full-sized wet saw isn't necessarily needed. Finally, the metal wheel would be ideal for cutting of nails, screws, and even bolts. I was able to use the metal wheel to cut through some strut and conduit for a project I was working on, but the 3" wheel size was a little small. I wasn't able to cut straight through the strut, but simply rotating made the project a success. I must say that I was rather impressed by the power that this little compact tool possesses. It cut through my metal pieces very easily! Overall, this is a great product for a wide variety of projects, and Ryobi really hit a homerun with this new line!

Three cutting wheels are included – tile, drywall/plastic and metal. Recently I was building quail battery cages that involved plastic coated ½” hardware cloth on side, across front and the cage floor. Typically this wire is cut to size with a nipper then stapled to a wood frame. It’s a tedious task cutting all that wire. I used the Ryobi Cut Off tool - it was quicker and much easier attaching the wire first then trimming to size – not to mention saving sore hands. I also used the cut off tool also to trim chain link fence top rails. The tool was powerful and handled the job – it was like cutting through butter. Most importantly my small hands can easily gripe and hold the tool securely with one hand. As with the other Ryobi compacts I have the battery lasted beyond my project use. I can already see this tool will come in handy on many of the odd jobs around my homestead. I really like the Ryobi new compact tools – full sized tools seem like overkill for some of my DIY projects.

This little saw surprised me in how much I like it given my limited expectations. To be honest I only wanted this for one main task in mind. And that was cutting vinyl siding. There just are not that many tools that are very good for that job. And I have a job planned where I will need something for that since I intend to do everything myself. This one is good for that. It comes with a blade meant for plastic. And one good thing is the variable speed which is controlled with how much the trigger is pulled is surprisingly smooth giving really good control over blade speed. It’s frankly a lot better than I expected. And the motor is the smoothest running motor I have seen. It is super smooth. It’s like motorized silk. And I have a lot of tools to compare it with. It would be nice if the blade was bigger for some jobs. But really this is all you need for what I have in mind. And I have 4 inch and 7 inch cutoff tools for the bigger jobs and I have plenty of metal working tools more suited to those tasks. Would this be good for some metal work ? Sure it would be OK for some light weight things. Since this was a tool only and not part of a kit - and I did not have Ryobi battery tools I went out and bought another Ryobi kit to get a battery and charger to try. I got the glue gun with charger and battery since it was only a tiny bit more than a charger and battery. Also my wife wanted the glue gun anyway. And she really liked it. I also thought it was a well made little tool. Now that I have tried a couple of the Ryobi 18V tools I imagine I’ll be getting more if these hold up well over time. You can’t beat the prices. I’ve just viewed the brand as something more for the weekend warrior and not as a contractor grade tool. But these are not bad for the money and they are a bargain compared to other brands which I have used. I was looking at another brand brad nailer but the one from this Ryobi 18V lineup is less than half as much. I might try it based on my experience with this little saw. I did already have a Ryobi compound miter saw and that has served me well for years now so I was not completely foreign to the brand. This is a light compact easy to handle tool that will not wear you out using it. If it holds up well over time I can’t see anything much negative to say about it. The one shortcoming I do see in the lineup is that the smaller 2Ah battery does not have a charge indicator although the bigger ones do. I personally think the larger batteries would be overkill for this little tool. You’d be better off with multiple small battteries to keep the weight down. But that’s just my preference. To each his own. The small LED light is nice and well placed and the blades are a breeze to swap. It’s a pleasure to use so far.

Ryobi's new line of High Performance cordless 18V tools includes a small 3" cut-off tool that is big on capability. I needed to make a few small cuts to cement tile board and used the tile blade that was included to effortlessly make the cuts. The ease with which I got this small job done without getting set up with a large circular saw impressed me. The tool does not include a battery even though my photos show one. No toothed blades are included and the manual says to not use any in this tool.

RYOBI One collection is a great collection, compact, lightweight, easy to use and still powerful. This will cut easily through metal, PVC, wood. It has been very handy in our new home, there is always something to work on. This has a LED light that works going in both directions which is very handy like when you are under a sink or other smaller darker areas.

This cutting tool is very nice, of course, since it is a Ryobi. However, it really doesn't seem to be manufactured to be a "saw." It does cut steel with one of the disks (with lots of sparks) and PVC pipe with another (relatively easily) but cutting tile with the third blade seems to be more difficult than we expected. However, my husband is thrilled to add this tool to his Ryobi arsenal and is already looking into buying additional blades.

what stands out about this tool is how compact it is and it's ease to work with. You can use this tool where a larger saw would not work properly. It is compact to store easy but yet it can cut through some tough lumber. Since I own some Ryobi tools I am please to add this tool to my workshop . i have had this tool for about a week and it meets as always and exceeds what is expected of this tool.
