Solid value

Essential tool for door trims and flooring

Great tool for the price!!!

Great Value
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Keeping in step with the rest of the Ryobi power tool lineup, this oscillating multi-tool is a great value, albeit not what I would consider "contractor grade." For the homeowner and DIY'er, there isn't a better option out there. The ergonomics and balance (with a 4AH HP battery) are spot on. I do prefer the battery mounting of its sister tool from Ridgid. If that, and/or the lifetime warranty are important to you, I would go with Ridgid. My biggest complaints are the vibration at higher speeds, the non-linear speed selector wheel, and the included Ryobi accessories. Do yourself a favor and grab some Milwaukee or other accessories. The experience between the two is night and day. The Milwaukee grout removal blade worked twice as well as the Ryobi grout blade. All that said, this is 90% as effective as Milwaukee or other brands but costing 50% less or more. I've used this for two projects so far - grout removal and an entry handle set installation. In both cases it offered plenty of control and never overheated - something that long grout lines such as the attached can do to lessor-made tools.

Most Perfect Tool!
Have a few nails sticking out?? Using a metal blade this will cut them off. Now it’s time to sand? Well just add your sanding tip!!! What if you need to cut a little piece of wood? Using a wood blade this tool will do it!! I love this multi tool it works for every need and is extremely powerful having its brushless motor. Highly recommend! Also love the fact it’s cordless!!

Easy to use for a First-Timer

I loved how many ways I used this took to cutting into my baseboard, cutting pic piping, and cutting quarter round. Got my moneys worth in one tool for my first DIY project!

The tool you are looking for!

It also makes a great detail sander. The quick change blade system makes switching out blades a snap...no tools needed, while the speed dial is easily accessible while using the tool. An already great tool, this uses the One+ battery system as well, so you are buying into one of the largest ecosystems of tools with a battery platform guaranteed to stay compatable.

Smoother and Tool-less
I bought this model to replace an older Ryobi model that I had for 7yrs that just burnt out. I put that thing through everything. I was glad to have spent the extra money to get this model over the lower one that was similar to my old one.
The brushless motor is quieter and smoother than my old unit. Also it seems a bit less noisy.
I used the same blade from my old unit in this new one and it was able to cut faster and smoother.
The light is in a better location. I would sometimes block the light on the old one depending on how I needed to make a cut.
Great unit, less vibration on the hands and you can adjust the speed with the dial. I wasn't sure if i'd like the on/off switch over the trigger, but i like it better. It frees up both hands to hold it in the position you need easier.
