USB Lithium Power Carver Kit with 2.0 Ah USB Lithium Battery and Charging Cable

This was ordered online and shipped to my home without issue. This is a great hand-held, battery operated power carver. The battery charges by removing it from the tool and plugging it into the provided USB cable. This is the cable only, without an adapter. The feel of the product when turned on isn't terrible and feels about the same as an electric toothbrush. I think that one of the best features of this product is that the cutting but doesn't really start until you apply pressure to the cutting bit itself. So if you're trying to get to tip to the right spot of your project, it won't start cutting until you apply pressure to it. Changing the tips was quick and easy with the included wrench as well. All in all this is a great product.

This is a cordless rechargeable battery powered power carver. It comes with a flat chisel, and a U and V gouge chisel. The battery (included) is rechargeable with the USB cable provided, but you will need your own USB charging block to plug into. The chisels out of the package were not extremely sharp. I will need to resharpen before using them again. The tool cycles about 14000 strokes per minute with a tiny 1 mm stroke length, so feels like a small vibration when using. It works a lot better on soft wood than on a hard wood. I easily carved into a scrap of 2x4 pine, but carving in a dried piece of cherry hardwood was much more difficult. For a light weight small hand held cordless carver, it is useful. It may not be as strong as corded tools, but for my purposes, it will be fine.

This is a battery-operated power wood carver. It is a really good beginner level tool. I've used manual carver tools before but never a power one. It was very easy to use without experience. It is lightweight and easy to hold. I had a lot of fun with it and look forward to doing more carving in the near future. The tool is powered by an included battery which can be recharged with a USB cable and the cable is also included. There are three bits with the tool: a straight chisel, a v-channel gouge and a u-channel gouge. These are the primary tools I have used in the past. There is an included chuck key for use in replacing the bits. It works great and changing on the fly is very simple.

This handy little tool does fine work neatly and safely. My main use for it is in customizing guitars. I tested it on soft Paulownia wood guitar-bodies first and found it does a beautiful job of widening pickup-cavities and precision fitting of neck-pockets. It's also convenient when fitting odd-shaped guitar-pickups into an expensive pick-guard or scratch plate. This tool works on the same principle as larger oscillating tools. It does NOT move forward and backward like professional "power carvers." But that's why it is so easy to control. The super fine oscillating action in this lightweight package is easy to guide. For straight cuts, I used the V-shaped cutter held against a straight-edge. The V-shaped cut makes a beautiful 45 degree angle edge with little effort. The battery must be charged with a USB cable, which they include. You'll need a power outlet with proper transformers and USB attachments. Since nearly everyone has those already for phones and computers, that should be easy to locate. When I first turned it on, I was surprised by how QUIET it was. But the noise gets LOUDER when you push it into wood. Hearing protection would be advisable for longer carving sessions. Changing bits is easy and fast. They supply a convenient small flat wrench with a short handle to prevent over-torquing the nut. You could use any available wrench provided you are careful. All the bits are SUPER SHARP! They seem to hold up well too. I examined the bit I used under high magnification and there seems to be no degradation of the cutting edge. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts because I've only used it on three small jobs so far. That said, the battery seems to be ready for more work. It takes about two hours to charge fully from zero. But the short charging sessions take less time. I've already found this to be a useful addition to my humble shop for my hobby of customizing guitars. Others may find it handy for trimming and fine fitment of dovetails or other precise joinery. You'll need to experiment with it for yourself. Except for the noise, I like everything about this thing! It's easy to use, comfortable and makes neat shavings that are much easier to clean up than saw-dust from a router. So if you have some small jobs that require precise hand work, this can be a useful tool to get.

I bought this tool a couple of weeks ago and have used it a few times already! What a great handy tool this is! I have some small woodworking projects that this tool finished up ! The battery is small and compact, but very powerful ! I like it’s design and it’s handy little cutting bits! I highly recommend this product for any homeowners that are looking for great product to finish the job !

I really wanted to like this Power Carver. It has a lot going for it, but the quality of the finished product wasn't up to what I would have expected. The tool has a nice size and weight, while fitting well into my hand. The battery is well designed, and it charges with a standard USB plug, so it doesn't require you to have another bespoke charging cable just for this battery. That being said the cut quality is not great and left a lot of chip out in the wood. I tried it in three different woods and a bit to my surprise, it worked better in harder woods than soft. In both pine and walnut, the quality was poor but in hard maple the cut was cleaner. My biggest recommendation is to go slow and take very small cuts.

This looks very similar to Ryobi Rotary tool but it's totally different. This tool doesn't rotate its tips, it instead does strokes per minute. So instead of spinning its tips, it goes back and forth very fast. It is rated at 14,000 strokes per minute (spm). It has only one speed so basically an on/off switch. Yes, it hums when turned on and will only see the tip move once you press it into the wood. Works pretty good and you have to get use to doing this or your tip will start walking on the wood. I can see myself working on a wood bowl piece that someone gave me with simple cuts on it and use the tips to give it more texture and shape. Otherwise as a DIYer, I can also see it for cutting out the hinges and strike plates for doors. The sound is sort of loud buzzing when using around mid 80 dB on pine wood, so I will need to remember to use some ear plugs since it will be close to my head/ears. It will depend on type of wood or other material you are using the tool on. But for folks that are wood carvers that use similar corded gouging tool, this would be great for those instances where the corded version would get in the way. It does have a rubberized tip so that if you hold it like a pencil I think it will give you good closeup carving capability and feel. The tool feels good in the hand and it has a decent girth to it, so you will not have hand cramps or aches holding it. I like that when I do put it down, it will not roll away too. The battery is easy to charge with the supplied USB C to USB A cord. The battery itself has the USB C connection point, which makes it very easy to connect rather than a mini or micro usb connection which is a hassle to line up correctly. It comes with three gouging tips, a straight, a v groove and a u groove tip. I hope that there will be more tips in the future. I'm pretty sure you can touch up the sharpness as needed with the proper whetstone. Or else will it fit the tips available for other brand corded carvers that looks like it would fit. Overall, excellent battery power tool for those carving needs in my house and for wood hobby work too that will supplement my existing rotary wood cutting tools that I have.
