Using this with an extension ladder for painting high point on side of house, can this be attached to the side in order to use it for a roller painting ?
Its good for a paint brush. Not really suitable for a roller unless its a trim roller.
The ladder mate is not designed specifically for extension ladders. It may work with certain builds/models of extension ladder, but it is primarily designed to work with step/multipurpose ladders.
Will this hold a 1gallon size paint can?
It would not be ideal to hold the can itself. The tray can, however, be filled with paint like a paint pan which is what we see a lot of trim painters use this item for.
No it is extremely convenient for holding a number of tools but the paint can should be held on the shelf between the legs of the ladder
Will this fit on the Little Giant 3 step and 4 step?
Not sure that I've ever seen a 3 or 4 step Little Giant ladder. It does fit my Werner 17 ft multi ladder which has the same basic design as Little Giant and Gorrila ladders.

This product is designed for standard ladders. We are unaware of the specifications of the Little Giant product. It appears it would work on the top step.
