Product Overview

"The RadonAway RP145c Radon Fan is the most popular radon mitigation fan in the industry, is intended for use as a component of an active soil depressurization (ASD) system for reducing radon. The RadonAway RP145c Radon Fan offers higher air flow, energy efficiency and quiet operation. It is ideal for both new construction and retrofit radon systems with a slab or membrane size of up to 2500 sq. ft. This radon fan is designed for moderate to good air flow, working most effectively with sub slab or sub-material conditions ranging from about 4 in. of clean, size 4-6 gravel to very loose soil. The RadonAway RP145c Radon Fan is built to resist moisture and can be mounted inside or outside on a 3 in. or 4 in. schedule 40 PVC vent pipe using 3 in. x 4 in. or 4 in. x 4 in. flexible couplings. NOTE: When installing an ASD system for radon reduction, any openings, major cracks and penetrations in the building slab or membrane must be sealed. Fan sizing for retrofit may require professional diagnostics and design.

Whisper Quiet Inline fan to keep Families SAFE
This fan was easy to install in my existing natural vent radon mitigation system. In a short time, it reduced the Radon levels from 4.8 pCi/L to 0.5 pCi/L. The EPA recommends levels below 4.0 pCi/L as safe but obviously, the lower the better. You’ll need to buy a 4” to 3” rubber fitting and the plug with a bushing which is not included.

Easily-installed replacement for our original RP265 Radon Fan. It is now called "Pro Series" and seems to be quieter than our first fan. The RadonAway website says "Put the coupling on the fan before putting it on the pipe. It’s better to shoehorn the tighter end on first. Lubricate the inside of the coupling or outside of the fan vent with a small amount of dish or hand soap. Warm the coupling near a heat source (vehicle heater, hair dryer or heat gun, for example). DO NOT over heat and over-soften the coupling. We find it helpful to take a warmed coupling and the fan, sit in a warm spot, and gradually push the coupling on, rotating as you work it onto the fan vent." All good tips!

Amazing!! We put a mitigation system in our house in Maine in 2013. It was so loud from day one, on cold nights we had to turn it off to sleep. We love our new fan, my husband installed it himself and it is so quiet you can't even hear it!!! Also we bought a radon meter for the old fan and it always read just below 3, this new fan is always below 1!!! Very happy with this purchase!!

This radon fan was exactly what I needed to lower radon level in my house. Before I installed this, radon level was around 8 pCi/L (alarming to say the least), now it's around .5 pCi/L since installed three weeks ago. If you need to install radon mitigation for the first time, be sure to do your research. My house had radon pipe installed, but it didn't have a fan, probably because the builder wanted to save few $$$. I installed this in the attic (not in basement because that is against code) and made sure it was installed plumb. The fan is super quiet and the result was exactly what I'd hoped after the fan was installed. Be sure to install a manometer in the radon pipe to get visual confirmation that venting is working as expected. The fan was delivered in new condition and well packaged. Don't forget to get the rubber couplings (if you have 3" pipes), power cord and bushing if you want to install this properly. Good luck to all those do-it-yourselfers out there!

Very happy with the fan. It is quiet and easy to install. I had a 3" pipe already installed with the new house I built, and just bought two 3" to 4" rubber connectors to mount it. Cut out about 10" of pipe and it attached easily. My only complaint is that they don't supply a simple clamp connector to secure wiring to the unit. It would be very easy and cheap for them to do this! I bought a 3/8" clamp connector, but had to modify it some to get it to fit in the existing hole where the connections are made, spending about 1/2 hour doing this. Poor of them to not include this.

Was replacing an existing fan that had been in place for 15 years, but had stopped running (typical expectation is 10 to 12 year fan life). It was easy to install and took about 30 minutes to swap out the old fan with the new. Runs great.
