Product Details

This residential and light commercial grade in-line valve replaces Rain Bird and other irrigation valves installed below ground with 3/4 in. female threaded inlet and outlet. It can be used with any 24 volt AC irrigation timer. Its unique reverse-flow design helps prevent flooding in the event of internal diaphragm failure, keeping the valve closed and saving water. This valve can be applied with all types of watering devices including Rain Bird spray heads (1800, 600), and rotors (22SA, 32SA, 42SA+, 52SA, LG3 and AG5). Use in-line valves in locations where the use of a pressure vacuum breaker (PVB) or a double-check valve is required by code to protect against backflow. Check your local codes to determine what type of valve is required. After installation and before startup, always the flush system of dirt and debris manually using the valve's external bleed screw.
  • Reliable, non-clogging design
  • Reverse Flow design reduces stress on diaphragm for dependable operation
  • In-line design minimizes pressure loss of dirt and debris during installation and system start-up
  • 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz automatic operation or manual activation with bleed screw
  • Works with any standard sprinkler timer
  • Designed for below-ground installation, out of sight and away from playful hands
  • Energy efficient, low power encapsulated solenoid with captured plunger for long lasting dependability
  • 3/4 in. female threaded inlet and outlet (use 3/4 in. MPT threaded pipe adapters with Teflon tape)
  • Heavy duty construction
  • Buna-N diaphragm offers superior performance in harsh water environments

Q:I have a 7 zone system that is working good except zone 6. I get very little water out of zone 6. Only 3-4 heads in the lower area of the zone have flow. I opened the valve manually and still low flow. Do I need to replace the Rainbird zone valve?

Answer This Question

A:  You could have a blockage further up the line that is not allowing water to reach the valve. Alternatively, you could have a blockage in the valve itself above the diaphragm not allowing full passage of water. If you are still experiencing issues, we’d love to walk you through the steps to troubleshoot. Just reach out to our technical support at 1-800-RAIN BIRD (800-724-6247) so we can help.

Q:I have a threaded DV100 housing with a crack. What is the easiest method to remove the defective DV100? Disassemble the DV100, remove dirt & rocks under the valve and try to rotate the body off the male threaded coupler glued to the manifold?

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot Mr. Mac! The 1 in. In-Line Irrigation Valve Model# CP100 is able to be installed vertically As long as there is flow and pressure in your system the valves can operate vertically." We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.”

        by|Mar 28, 2023

A:  You'll want to be sure that the valve is installed horizontally according to the arrows printed on the body for the direction of flow, otherwise valve operation may be erratic if installed backward or in a vertical position. If you would like additional help in setting up or operating the product, please feel free to contact our technical support at 1-800-RAIN BIRD (800-724-6247) and we’d be more than happy to assist. .

            Q:Are these NSF 50 rated?
            by|Jan 26, 2023
            1 Answer
            Answer This Question

A:  NSF/ANSI 50 certification is for pool and spa products, namely equipment and treatment chemicals. As this valve is intended for use with an underground irrigation system, this certification does not apply. Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our technical support at 1-800-RAIN BIRD (800-724-6247) and we’d be more than happy to assist.

The assistant in the store was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He took me to the area where the valves were and got me exactly what I needed. When I returned home I opened the packaging and found excellent and easy to follow installation instructions. Having never replaced a valve like this before, I was a bit apprehensive, but thanks to the Home Depot assistant and the thorough instructions that came with the valve, I had the old one out and the new one installed in 30 minutes. Perfect fit, works great and saved a bunch of money. Home Depot scores at the top of my choices every time. They are my number one go to store for all my home repair needs, and here is just another perfect example why. Thanks again Home Depot.

Bought this to match the valves from the original installation, this one to add a zone. It worked exactly as advertised and I'm happy with the performance. It has now been in service for a couple of weeks and all is good.

Rain Bird valve is better than Orbit valve
There have been 4 zones using Rain Bird valves which were installed in my front more than year 20 years ago, 9 zones using Orbit valves which were installed in my back yard 7 years ago. Last year, I was out of town for 2 weeks. When back home, one of sprinkler in the back yard was on. It could not be turned of by any means except turn of the water source. The water bill that month was $1,800+ including $1,700+ for water only. Because nothing wrong for the Rain Bird valves in the front yard. So I replaced defective Orbit valve with a Rain Bird valve. Few months later, 2nd Orbit valve defected. I had to replace it. Then 3rd Orbit valves defected. I decide to replace all 9 Orbit valves. Done with 7, 2 more to go ( see pictures )

Best replacement for Toro irrigation valve
This valve is easy to install with the housing having threads. This allows the installer to thread on one inch PVC pipe prior to complete installation. The housing has very defined instructions and markings which aid in the installation process. This is my sixth valve to purchase and I am replacing the Toro valves that fail. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone. This valve has easy to replace components that make the valve a user friendly model and the replacement parts are readily available. I have several that are working like new but know that working on these valves will be easier than the toro models.

              Good valve, good size
This valve fit nicely along with a filter/reducing psi connection into our round irrigation box. Have used this brand before and it has worked well. We use this 3/4-inch valve for our drip system to shrubs, plants, trees, and flowers.
