Product Overview

Rainhandler replaces conventional gutters and protects your home and the environment from the harmful effects of ice, snow, and rain. Snow and ice cannot build up because of the open louver design. Additionally, Rainhandlers mount below the roof slope and are unaffected by snow slides. As the rain comes off your roof, Rainhandler's seven angled louvers break up the heavy sheet of water into small drops. These drops are deflected away from your home where they fall harmlessly to the ground in a 2 to 3 ft. band.
  • Rainhandler returns runoff back to rain size drops which fall naturally to the ground
  • 25-Year limited warranty
  • Self cleaning by design means leaves and debris fall through slats or blow away
  • Works with almost all roof designs and materials
  • Do it yourself friendly, only three brackets and six screws total per 5 ft. section
  • Each section includes attachment brackets and wood screws
  • Patented design reduces soil disturbance and pollution at ground level from storm water runoff commonly caused by no gutters or clogged gutters
  • Less soil disturbance means reduced debris(pollution) flowing into local streams, rivers, and other public surface drain systems
  • Aluminum construction, manufactured in the usa
  • Replaces traditional roofing gutters

How does the rain handler work does it replace a rain gutter

Asked by Jim December 4, 2020

It just disperses the water into a spray of droplets kind of like a shower to keep the water from cutting into the ground in a line and dig away the dirt. A gutter collects the water and it goes down-slope to a corner where it is collected in a downspout. These are not gutters... water will still hit your plants... just in dispersed drops.

Will these still work if your fascia board is angled in at 22 degrees?

Don’t think you can buy less than 5ft, and I wouldn’t recommend cutting as an option. Hope that helps

The screws appear to be aluminum so no rust.

Are the screws safe on vinyl siding, or might they rust?

Nowhere near a replacement for an honest gutter system, but in locations where a gutter cannot be installed, or downspout is not an option, better than nothing.

I purchased rain handlers for the back of my house aprox. 10yrs ago and had them installed because I don't handle heights that well. I think they do an amazing job! They disperse the rain as advertised and I never have to clean gutters. Conventional gutters cost a fortune, are labor intensive to install and require a ton of maintenance or fancy gutter covers to prevent leaf buildup. Not so with these Rainhandlers. I like 'em!

Install was fairly easy, tho I have a special situation which took longer. One thing that bothers me is the 2 pieces, because they don't physically connect to each other, are offset slightly when looking straight on from the ground. I need to twist the brackets some.

I've used this stuff before and it is very handy for certain applications. The instructions say you need to install it at the bottom of the facia board (at least 4'' down) and you need a 1 1/2" overhang between the end of the drip edge and the front of the facia. If your drip edge isn't long enough you can extend it. If your facia board is angled you need special adapters. I only had a 3" aluminum facia so I made some angle brackets out of aluminum to mount the rainhandler brackets to. Since I didn't have the 1 1/12" overhang I also bent the brackets backward so the rainhandler was recessed to increase the overhang a bit. It worked well and prevents the rain from splashing all in one row and making a mess. Once installed you don't need to worry about cleaning the gutters just occasionally hose them off from the bottom to blow off anything stuck in them. I had a major problem with the gutters filling with lots of leaves so this solved my problem. My only issue is that they should be wider to better handIe both light rain (when it falls almost straight down from the drip edge) and heavy downpours when the water may shoot out six inches during its 4" downward travel .

Great Alternative to Gutters
This is one of those products that demonstrates American innovation. I needed an alternative to a traditional gutter for my deck. Gutters require a lot of parts. Contractors wanted too much money to install them. So, to avoid my having to work from a ladder that I do not have AND transport 10 ft sections of gutters and downspouts in a small car, I went with Rainhandler. It is available in brown whereas brown gutters are a special order. Installing the system was straightforward. I made angled wood spacers since my fascias were angled. The most difficult part was lining up the 4 sections so that they would meet. The entire installation was done from the deck, not on a ladder. It has been dispersing the rain well since installed. I am completely satisfied with my Rainhandler system.

Awesome Product! Easy Installation!
I have a steep roof valley that was washing out the dirt below during a rain. I have decided that the mfg install guidelines did not fit my application, so I installed diagonal in the corner under the drip of the valley. During a hard rain, the water would overshoot, so I installed a double width of the rainhandler. I cut the rainhandler at an angle to fit to the faca on the house. Works great now to disperse the water and keeping from washout below and under a concrete walkway. LOVE this product!
