Q:I need to replace exterior wall 2x4 studs, on edge of concrete slab poured around 1979, not sure if I should #4 ammo and use 2 1/2" or 3" ramset nails with washers. the original bolts anchoring the rotted studs are rusted but functional.

I used these pins to fasten 2x6 pressure treated window bucks to a new ICF block house. I drove them in where the concrete was within the blocks. Quicker than using Tapcon screws.

The nails didn’t drive all the way into the concrete. I was forced to drill some and hammer the nails. Some were over an inch exposed.
