Great rake given the need and usefulness of its application. Sturdy construction through and through with little to no signs of wear after multiple uses in different settings. All signs point to this rake being able to withstand the rigors of heavy use without sacrificing anything in the area of performance. Handle is comfortable in hand and seems to be well balanced.

Solid wood handle that is totally able to handle anything you put this rake through.
Now in my case, I will be using the asphalt rake more for garden work in the spring where I have lots and lots of roots in the hard soils here.
I like using the straight tines found on the asphalt rake for this. If needed to "cut" the soil more, you can sharpen the tines a little bit. You will appreciate the extra thickness of this type rake for your work.
Of course, if you're looking to move warm asphalt around, you couldn't go wrong with this rake

I am a fan of the Razor Back tools. I do not have any plans of doing any asphalt work anytime ever. I got this 14 tine asphalt rake to use in the garden. I figure if it can handle moving asphalt it should be fine moving dirt, mulch and gravel around. I like it because of the longer handle. So far I am very pleased. It is comfortable to use and seems to be well made.

A very long handled and heavy rake. Didn’t pay attention when I ordered and was a little surprised when it arrived. The handle is over 5 feet long, pretty wide head and pretty good weight behind it. I have been using it cleaning around some areas I have cleared and tilled. Works awesome cleaning out chunks of roots and limbs left from tiller and with the long handle I don’t have to step in the loose dirt.

First I must say I did not purchase his for Asphalt, I just needed a new rake and wanted something that looks well-made and hopefully last a long time. With the heavy duty 14” tines, heavier than anything I have seen, the long square metal shaft that attaches to the long wooden handle, and the overall length being 78”, I think it will. It looks like the square shaft is pressed into a pre-drilled hole in the wooden handle, this should keep the handle tightly secured.
Instead of using a single rivet or metal pin to secure the metal rake to the wooden handle, I would like to see 2 and have them go all the way through.
This is where I’ve seen most of my problems over the years with rakes, hoes, shovel, etc.
The only reason I’m giving it a 4 is because of the price. It’s more than double or triple the price of some other well-made rakes.
It also has a “Life time Warranty” but I don’t see anything on this web site as to what that means??

Real long, strong and durable forged steel. A good addition to the arsenal of any DIYers or professionals. The Razor-Back 14-Tine Asphalt rake is the heavy duty of rakes. Longer than most rakes, gives it enough leverage to use it. The steel is so strong and durable, it is obvious it will last for a long time. Very happy to have acquired this rake as it will be useful for me come next spring when it’s time to prepare the yard for the year. With the strength of this rake, it will cut my work hours short. Great rake, I love it.

This heavy-duty asphalt rake has a sixteen and a half inch rake head with 14 tines. The overall length is six feet six inches. It has a long metal shaft making it good for working with hot asphalt. The handle is hardwood and secured to the shaft with a bolt. There is nothing as frustrating with any rake than the shaft coming out of the handle. That should be no problem with this rake. It is a heavy duty rake designed and produced with strength and durability. Well done!

Truth be told is that I did not get this Razor-Back rake for asphalt so if that is what you are reading this review for; my review might not help much. BUT I am using it to rake my new lawn. Actually moved into a new home and am doing my own lawn care. So the lawn has a lot of crabgrass which has died already and I want to open the lawn to allow the new seed to spread after winterizing. After breaking a cheap rake I decided I needed a more sturdy rake. It is very well made and The rake has an extra-long handle which makes it comfortable to use, doing a great job on loosing the crabgrass. It is lightweight but works hard and is sturdy.

I was looking for a wide blade, long handle rake. Who knew an asphalt rake would fit the bill but it works really well. We have a large section of landscape rock on the side of the house and between kids, leaves, and pushing the lawn mower through it needs to be straightened out from time to time. This works great to pull the debris away and flatten out the rock in a few big sweeps. The tines are less aggressive than a bow rake which I like, makes it easier to leave a uniformed flat surface. Just be aware the full length is 78" so you may have to get creative on storage if you have a smaller shed or storage space.

This is the heaviest duty rake I have ever used or seen. It truly will rake asphalt. I use it for raking wet bark from an extremely high hill. I replace the bark every year as it rots and have now found the right rake to get it off the hill in the least amount of time. Wide tunes and extremely heavy with a very long handle for the extra reaching. Not for raking the lawn grass, too heavy and wide tines.
