Q:Is the blade supposed to be curved?

Answer This Question

A:  No. It’s supposed to be straight. Mine has no curve whatsoever. It worked great to chop up the thick (1”+) ice that built up on my driveway and walkway last winter from a few snow/freezing rain storms.

A:  The one I purchased was not curved it was straight all the way across. I use mine to chop ice on my walkway.

    by|Dec 19, 2018

A:  No... it is flat so it clears (scrapes) evenly.

A:  This scraper features a straight edge blade.

Q:how high it this scraper ?

          Answer This Question

A:  There are some great reviews posted on this product. Excerpting from one posted a couple weeks ago ... The blade is robust; a full 1/8" thick [forged stamped steel, i.e will not flex] with a good beveled edge; will take to dressing up. The blade is 7" across; it's hard to imagine the blade bending if I try to pry up a sheet of ice. The robust shaft is plain vanilla hardwood; fiberglass would have been preferred; you definitely want to keep it out of the weather. The D-handle is sketchy at best; since it's stamped with a "6", it could be polystyrene; I would have preferred UHMWPE or some type of FG-reinforced plastic. The overall length is only 48" long, there's going to be a lot of back strain.

                Good Grip, Good blade
This is a great all-purpose scraper. We will use it in the winter for ice buildup on the driveway and sidewalk. It hasn't iced yet, so we haven't tried it out for that purpose. However, the blade is sharp, the metal is strong, and I have no worries as to the performance. For now, it's used in the garden area to edge. The handle is an easy grip. The long wood part of the handle is strong. And most of all, the blade is sharp, easy to use on most materials. A must for the ice in the winter and very useful for the summer garden/grass edging!

                Does the job
I like this wider blade more than the other model I have seen. I use this for edging my driveway about once a year. The grass and dirt fill in quickly but when you start with this it makes trimming so much easier throughout the year. The wide flat blade makes a great straight line. It is also very nice using it to cut out grass neatly for placing walking pavers. The added handle gives great leverage that other models don't have. Just a great tool when a shovel wont do.

Blade came bent. Not very conducive to scraping.

The blade is great and the pole is sturdy. There's the two stars. The pole is ridiculously short however, so one needs to be bent over to use it for anything but the easiest chopping where the weight of the tool is enough. Spoiler alert: that's usually not enough. Try chopping with any bit of force using the D handle, and your hand is toast. Lengthen the pole, lose the handle, and it's 5 stars.
