A:  I am a professional fence builder. We have a dozen of these. The lifetime warranty means that if they break or fail, you can bring them back to any Home Depot and they will exchange it for a new one free of charge and with no questions asked.

A:  You do not need to register for the warranty. Anytime that your tool fails due to manufacturing defect, you only need to return the tool to Home Depot for a replacement.

A:  You register your tool with the manufacturer, or save your receipt, original or electronic, and The Home Depot will replace/exchange it for you.

This is a no frills, all metal, post hole digger. I used this to put in a new mail box at my new home. It's amazing what a new mailbox can do for curb appeal when the old one is leaning and all beat up. I had to dig down a bit further than the old hole, and this digger worked perfectly. This post hole digger is heavier than I was expecting, but it's actually good because it gives the digger enough weight to get down into some tough soil. I will likely add some sort of covering at the end for some grip. You can see form my photos that the handles are open with no grips or anything like that. The digging end is very thick steel and covered in a powder coating. I expect a tool like this to last a lifetime. Lastly, the hinge is a bolt that is easily replaceable if the time ever comes.

The 48 inch Steel Handle Post Hole Digger by Razor Back is good product, and could be excellent in the right application. This all steel tool is rugged, but also weighs 14.8 lbs. If the soil conditions are hard or rocky, this digger would stand up to the challenge with steel handles and heavy carbon steel blades that are beveled for better cutting. The distance between blades is 6" which means it takes big bite. Due to size, weight, and load capacity of this digger, a significant physicality is required. I would consider this a PRO tool that would get the tough digging jobs done and this tool would last. .

A rugged post hole digger that is surprisingly easy to use in the garden as well as for big projects. I am out in the garden nearly all year, and have lots of digging to do. When I transplant something, it's often because a plant has volunteered to grow from last year's seeds. It's not always well placed, and it needs to be moved. But digging in a place where many plants have already been growing can be tough with a shovel. You need room to move so you can step on the shovel. And swinging the shovel to a different spot where the soil can be mounded often lets clods fall off the shovel onto growing plants. So, I decided to try a post hole digger. This one is perfect for the job. The steel handles are just wide enough around to provide a secure grip. The heft of the tool allows you to chunk down into the soil...even through the terrible clay that we have here in North Carolina. Moving the soil to a place where you can mound it is also super easy. The jaws stay shut and don't let a single clod fall out. This is going to be perfect for our expansion of the compost bin. We need another set of holes for the posts for a third bin, so this will make the job go much more quickly. I'm glad I gave this a try in the garden. I prefer that my tools have multiple uses, and the post hole digger is a surprise option that works very well in the garden!

I got this one because I had a nasty neighbor call zoning on me. Now. It worked great to dig out the 2 holes to prove I had footings. I got this one because I am getting a farm. this will def stand up to the abuse of everyday holes, being throw in the back of a truck and off to the next post. I do believe that this one is made very well. The handles are comfortable in my hands. I have small hands. but people with bigger should be okay. Its heavy. The price is steep for 2 poles and a clip but we gotta pay what we gotta pay!

These should be sold in the store again. The ones that are sold in most stores suck. I bought some of these years ago and still use them. The metal shovel part are very durable
