Q:Can this be hook up to a dimmer or do u need manually climb a ladder change the light setting each time...thanks
by|Jun 8, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Yes, the light can be connected to a dimmer. The switch on the fan shield allows you to change the white light color temperature. Most will set it to one temperature and leave it.

Q:Hi, we have an older building with a duct size of 3" only for a 40 squ ft BA. I saw in your prior answers that the 50 CFM model will work. What exactly do I have to do to reduce fit the fan into the smaller hole? Is there an instruction video/manual?
      by|May 10, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  The opening size for the RVL50 is 7.5" xx 7.25", so you will want to cut the hole to that size if it is smaller than that. We have an installation video in the image carousel on homedepot.com, or several other helpful videos on YouTube by searching ReVent Ventilation Fans. Here's an in-depth install video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DYZ-m0Jnvw

Q:Do you make a larger trim ring? The one provided does not cover the entire opening. Leaves the edge of the hole exposed on one side..
        by|May 8, 2024

        Answer This Question

A:  You can buy an adapter trim. Just search goof ring or goof adapter.

        by|Jun 12, 2024

A:  The trim ring matches the size of the fan box. For the gap, we recommend patching the drywall. Or you may want to consider sizing up to a larger CFM size, like the 110 CFM model. Feel free to call us directly with any questions 1-877-543-8698.

Replacing the old bathroom exhaust fan would have been impossible from above, as large HVAC vents were positioned over that portion of the ceiling. Thankfully, the ReVent fan made the job much simpler because it's designed to be installed from below. The finished installation was excellent. The fan is seated securely in the ceiling and runs quietly and effectively. The Kelvin-adjustable light fills the room. (We have it set on 3,500K, which is toward the softer end of the brightness scale.) Bottom line: I would buy it again.

Great fan and better than average light.
2yrs old. Prior to installing the exhaust duct this fan (RVL110) pulled the bath door open 5" and nearly silent. Connecting the old 3" foil duct the perf fell to 3/4" and was loud. While upgrading to a 4" alum semi-rigid duct I found a major restr at the roof vent. Now it pulls open 3" w/ less noise that the prev. much smaller fan. It didn't keep the mirror from fogging until I trimmed the door to a 3/4" gap, a huge improvement! This morning I found the springs broke. I can't find ReVent parts.

If the bathroom is sealed tightly, replacement air may not be entering the room fast enough to displace moist air. You need a gap under the bathroom entrance door to allow air to enter the bathroom. If your home uses 3 inch diameter ducting, upgrading the duct pipe to 4 inch diameter can greatly increase the airflow. ReVent

              Excellent customer service
Great light output. I contacted customer service through email with an issue. I believe mine was pest the support date, but I was still able to obtain parts with instruction for repair direct from the manufacturer. I was impressed with the support very much. Thank you! 😊

                Modern
I didn’t know they made good looking fan/light combos like this. So modern and sophisticated looking. It even works on a dimmer is you want it that way. My sisters who recently remodeled their bathrooms were blown away by the new style. Looks good. Works great.

Great light, fan doesn’t do much
I bought this because I needed a fan big enough to cover the hole in my ceiling. My bathroom is about 5.5x11. My window remains totally fogged during a shower, so I’m not sure how much the fan does. The light is bright enough to be the only light in the room and is attractive

It’s actually a common misconception that bathroom mirrors should not fog up, because this is not always the case. If windows and mirrors are very cold, condensation can still form on those surfaces. Here are some other things to check for to help the performance: If the bathroom is sealed tightly, replacement air may not be entering the room fast enough to displace moist air. You need a gap under the bathroom entrance door to allow air to enter the bathroom. If your home uses 3 inch diameter ducting, upgrading the duct pipe to 4 inch diameter can greatly increase the airflow. The vent pipe length should be 10 feet or less with minimal bends. Ensure that the vent pipe is not blocked. Please give us a call if you have any questions 1-877-543-8698 or email info@reventfans.com ReVent

                    3 years old and broken
When removing cover/light both retention springs broke due to corrosion and can not be replaced because the attachment screws are so corroded they can not be removed. If the manufacturer had spent a few pennies more on good stainless steel hardware they would not be getting a failing one star review.

DO NOT BUY - NOT ENOUGH POWER!
We bought several of these exhaust fans while doing a whole house refresh a year ago. None of them work well. We installed TWO of the 150 CFM at either end of our 150 sf master bathroom, which originally had just one larger one, so this should have been overkill. They turn on together, and even so, they barely pull in any air, and the walls and ceiling are literally dripping with condensation! And all of the fans are like this! Not nearly enough power to do the job! Waste of money and time!

We're thankful you reached out to us because we are certain we can help with this! For what you are describing, there is ample CFM for your room size, so we believe there may be something blocking the airflow. Sometimes it's as simple as forgetting to remove the cap or tape on the damper. This is very simple to troubleshoot and diagnose, so please give us a call and we can help! 1-877-543-8698 or email info@reventfans.com ReVent

                        Loud Loud Loud
Installed this fan as part of home remodel 3 months ago and I had to retrofit sheetrock from old Broan to get it to fit.. This thing is so loud I can’t think in the water closet. I’m hoping it is just defective. Wish I could post a video.

Thank you for your review. This is an often easy fix! It’s likely that another aspect of the installation is causing the fan to be louder than it should. Sometimes it's as simple as forgetting to remove the cap or tape on the damper. Please give us a call and we can help troubleshoot the root cause 1-877-543-8698 or info@reventfans.com. In the meantime, please check for the following:
                        1. Dirty or clogged vent pipe 2. Closed vent pipe damper 3. Vent pipe should be 4 in diameter. 4. Length of vent pipe should not exceed 10 ft. ReVent
