Dear David: First, you cannot simply glue Reach or other reflective / radiant barriers on the garage door. You must build / create a ~3/4" air gap between the door and the reflective barrier, to achieve the claimed R-value. Plus, this air gap must be cafrefully sealed to avoid air leaks. Plus, you must maintain this sealed air gap -- which is difficult on a moving garage door. Home Depot sells a much better solution with higher R-value (R-8), that is easy to install. See: Owens Corning Model #GD01, Home Depot Internet #20225727, UPC Code #047563700275, Store SKU #744925 I hope this is helpful. Mark
Dear TBecker: No. Reflective/radiant barrier products like Reach and Reflectix can provide some benefit in a hot ventilated attic in the summer time -- but not for a chicken coop, and definitely not during the winter. Radiant barriers do not work in the winter because cold cannot be 'reflected' and people or chickens are not 'radiant'. (They do not emit lots of infrared energy.) Plus, Reach and similar products provide almost no insulation by themselves -- just R-1. You have to build a sealed air gap to achieve the results (in summer) claimed on the package and marketing materials. The best option for a chicken coop is Foamular XPS foam board, which is sold by Home Depot. Foamular delivers R-5 per inch of thickness and does not absorb moisture. XPS is relatively easy to cut with a steak knife, and be sure to carefully seal the joints to stop air leaks. DAP 230 works well. Do not, however, install any type of foam board near a heat source, e.g. a heat lamp or electric heating element. Use rock wool near heat sources. I hope this is helpful, Mark
Dear Tammy: If the window in your RV door is single pane, Reflectix will work just fine. If it is double-pane, however, the increased heat can damage the seals. For your windshield, Reflectix again will work just fine. You can use small pieces of double-sticky back Velcro to fasten it in the corners. Home Depot sells Velcro. I hope this is helpful, Mark
Hi Ari, thank you for your inquiry. This item is ideal for attics, exterior and interior walls, radiant floors, metal and steel buildings, crawl spaces, garage ceilings and many other applications. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!
3m double sided tape or spray adhesive
No, it will not be effective in that application. Mike
No, this product did not have an adhesive backing. Both sides are reflective, but no adhesives. I used mine to insulate the large sun roof in my car, which had only a flimsy bit of plastic sheeting between the hot sun roof and the interior of the car. It worked great in both summer and winter.
