Can you put the stain over existing stain that has aged
Ready Seal is a penetrating stain that must be able to absorb into the wood. It is important that any film forming products be removed, prior to staining by chemically stripping, sanding, or possibly an aggressive soft-wash if the previous product has aged enough to be more easily removed.
can it freeze? I'll have to store in a shed if I don't finish
Ready Seal is best stored in 50 degree temperature or above. The oil will never freeze, but settled pigment can easily harden or coagulate in colder temperatures.
To use on a stained exterior wood door and trim, can I use a polyurethane over the stain?
Ready Seal can be top coated with any water based or oil based product, once fully dried.

Ready Seal is a stand alone product, and does not require any type of top coat.
washed and stained my 13-year-old fence with Ready Seal Natural Cedar. Some pickets dark and blotchy after paint. should I apply a second coat on dark spots?
Ready Seal should always be applied to cleaned and fully dried wood, to a point where the product resists wanting to absorb into your wood. Two coats is always recommended on rough cut fence planks. It will drain and self level on its own.
