Brighten your outdoor space with READY SEAL 1 Gal. Mission Brown Exterior Wood Stain and Sealer. Oil-based and semitransparent, this enriching stain is both stain and sealant, eliminating the need for separate products. The oil brings vivid color suitable for any exterior wood project. It also offers resistance to mold, mildew, UV damage, cracking and warping as it protects and strengthens wood fibers.

Q:Why did all my Ready Seal peel of our cedar wood that I put it on?

Answer This Question

A:  It sounds like i there might have been an over-application here.if Ready Seal is applied to moisture laden wood, or to wood that still has an old product in it, it will not be allowed to penetrate properly. Any product left on the surface, in excess....will be able to crack or peel. Ready Seal is made to deeply penetrate, not sit on top of, your wood. Good preparation allows this penetration to take place.

    Nice Oil Based Stain
    The color was perfect, not too dark & I can still see the wood grain after 2 coats. Used a small roller & it went on well, though very runny as expected for an oil based stain. Just hoping it lasts for a couple of years on our outdoor decorations.

    Product was not available in 5-gal container; was informed by paint dept employee not to use airless sprayer since product is so thin resulting in a messy spray dispersion. Also, Home Depot did not have the special spray nozzle tip in stock to use on an airless sprayer. Was advised to used a pump-up Sprayer even though product label indicates an airless sprayer can be used. Also, product is overpriced compared to other manufacturers.
