Answer This Question

A:  As far as I know, the blades for these particular scrapers are not available alone. I had the same problem, and wound up with a bunch of new handles, having used the blades. I found some similar, but not the same and more money.

A:  If it comes off with the scrapper, fine but if it is difficult you might was to apply paint stripper to soften the paint before you use the scrapper. https://www.homedepot.com/s/paint%2520stripper?NCNI-5

A:  Yes; you should use a paint remover in conjunction with the scraper to soften the paint.

A:  You may want to try a window opener/ window sash saw to get the reach needed to break thepaintsealing the window to the trim or frame.

        Answer This Question

A:  No. This scraper is designed so you're pulling towards you or "dragging" instead of pushing. This method should not result in any gouging.

        by|May 4, 2023

A:  It will if you allow the points of the blade to make contact with the trim with some force. Flat or curved sections of the blade should be used that match the contour of the trim.

Nice paint scrapers. Like the triangle one best.
Not much to say. The two hand tools and blades come in a bag, not as two seperately packaged tools. The blades have Made in Taiwan stamped on the back. Very sharp. The hand tool has a nut and lock washer to hold the scraper in place. Good feel to the handle.

These scrapers are a great value. Made in Taiwan, resharpenable. I used half a dozen of these to manually scrape and prep a 1926 house for exterior paint. I wish we could buy the blades alone from HD, but you can't, so I wind up with new unused handles (used the blades with the old handles). If you are planning to do a lot of scraping, then you should give these a try.

I bought this on a whim, I am scrapping and painting a house that is 110 years old - I have been using and angle grinder, a Wagner Paint stripper, a heat gun and a 6 in 1 tool. If I could keep only one of these tools it would be The Ready Strip!!! What a life saver.

                  Best Paint Scraper!
Love this thing. Blades are super sharp and the handle is comfortable. Have been using this on my porch for the past few weeks and it's the only thing able to tackle 95 years of paint with minimal mess. My only complaint would be that you can't seem to buy replacement blades. I'm going to have a bunch of bladeless handles by the end of my project.

I like the knife-edge of the scraper. It removes more than a regular scraper.
