The raintight NEMA 3R PBN Series non-metallic power inlet box is designed for use with the Pro/Tran transfer switches and Panel/Link manual transfer panels and generator-ready load centers. This power inlet box should be installed outdoors in an open area where the generator is being used. Using one of the three 3/4 in. knockouts (one each on the sides and back) the power inlet box can be wired directly to the transfer switch or panel. The patented design provides over 100 cu. in. of wiring space and the slide-out base allows easy 360° access to the flanged inlet.

is this a twist lock receptacle? do you have a 50 amp range type male plug in the same type of box?

AnswersI think VicL meant it accepts a CS6364 FEMALE connector only. But it contains the MALE connector.
Is this a 4 prong plug? If not, do you sell a 4 prong 50 amp power inlet box? If so can you send me the info?

AnswerThe inlet in this box is four conductor, 120/240 volt. In this configuration there are actually 3 prongs and one grounding tab making four conductors total. The connector that matches this inlet box is Reliance Controls part no. LL550C, internet no. 202216505.

I purchased this inlet box to go with my Generac 50 AMP generator cable. This inlet box uses a Hubbell connector which I discovered to be superior to the Marinco connector found in the Reliance Controls PB50. The Marinco connector wire nuts we stripped with my unit, I could not tighten them. The nut basically screws onto two threads. The Reliance Controls PBN50 with the Hubbell connector is far superior. The wire nuts are Allen head screws with a size thread depth. The rivet on the PB50 Marinco connector is too large and prevents the Generac CS6364 connector from being inserted. The PBN50 Hubbell connector uses two smaller rivets and had the Generac cable fit perfectly. If you are using a Generac cable, make sure the connector is made by Hubbell.

Very easy to install. Even with 6-3 cable. Rated for outdoors but mine will be out of the weather. It is plastic so I'm not sure how it would hold up in a direct sunlight position in a very hot climate. Perfect for me.

Excellent generator power inlet box
Picked up this reliance inlet box for my new generator setup. I'm an electrician and have installed a ton of reliance generator products and this is by far the best option for a 50 amp inlet box. I highly recommend getting this box over the standard reliance PB50. This box not only has a ton more room to make your connection to the plug, but it also has the receptacle pointing down instead of straight out. This will keep the plug out of the elements and prevent water from seeping by where the receptacle and plug meet. The standard PB50 is about half the size of this box and it's extremely difficult to wire, even if you use flexible SO cord.
All in all I'm very happy with the box and highly recommend it you need a 50 amp box for your generator.
