Excellent video quality and good reception from the cameras. Had to contact the manufacture about the password setup but that was resolved in a matter of minutes. Easy to setup. Excellent value.

First off, I did have a hard time with this item. I would say if need help installing ask. This set up came complete with all the hardware needed to install the cameras and hard drive. You need a PC with Wi Fi and a monitor. The hardest part was getting to a power source, While mounting I dropped a camera and it broke. The nice thing about these camera is that they can be mounted on several locations without wires going all over just to a power source.

The wireless 4-channel smart 1TB NVR surveillance system with 4 full -HD 1080P wireless audio capable bullet cameras are an excellent surveillance system. It has four cameras that you can set up around your house to cover most of your yard or where you need them for best results. I like them very much and yes they meet my espectations. I have had them for 12 days now.

The Revo 4-Channel wifi surveillance system works well. The images are clear. Connection was simple, but the instructions manual was difficult to understand and follow. The DVR comes with a mouse and connects to my tv and router easily. After reading a few times and using the software, I was able understand how the software works. The wireless camera still needs power, which makes it difficult to install outdoors. Indoor installation of the cameras was very simple to mount when there is a power outlet available. The app took time to install.

So if you want a DIY home security system the REVO Wireless 4-Channel Smart 1TB NVR Surveillance System with 4 Full HD 1080P Wireless Audi Capable Bullet Cameras is a good option. That is, if you are familiar with AV setup. If you are not, this is a very challenging system. The instructions are not very complete, or well written, and while there is a “Wizard “ program, I couldn’t get it fully connected. Since the cameras are WiFi, as long as you have an electrical outlet nearby, they connect easily to give a visual image. That said, I’m not sure if anything is recording and I can’t get the signal to connect to my router. So, what is good about this system? The cameras give a very clear picture and with four of them you can cover the perimeter of your house effectively. I’d also say this is a great price point, but after adding in the cost of adding additional outlets and paying a professional to help with the set up, I’m not sure it is any bargain.

This well engineered surveillance system consists of four bullet cameras and a control unit. Being wireless, installation is very easy. The cameras can be screwed to any suitable surface, and adjusted to any angle, or for indoor use placed in a discrete location such as a bookshelf. The only requirement is that they are connected to a power outlet with the provided cables. I placed the control unit next to my desktop and connected it a spare input of a monitor and to my internet router. A camera was placed outside of each of the two exterior doors and the other two cameras in bookcases. The whole setup only took only a few minutes thanks to a well designed application. Installing the android app for my phone was equally easy. I have used other surveillance systems in the past but all have proved tricky to install, but this one sets a new standard for simple installation and ease of use.

This REVO Wireless 4-Channel Smart 1TB NVR Surveillance System with 4 Full-HD 1080p Wireless Audio Capable Bullet Cameras by REVO is a great system. The 4-Channel Wireless system features a 4-Channel 1080p Full-HD Smart NVR, 1TB Hard Disk Drive and 4 - 1080p Audio Capable Indoor/Outdoor Bullet Cameras. The day time picture is very clear and the night time has an IR array that illuminates the scene up to an unprecedented 100 ft. in total darkness. I was disappointed in the length of the power cord for the cameras, they are not very long so I had to install my cameras near a power supply or run the wires into my house. The setup of the base unit was easy, as was the linking to the cameras. The Revo Wireless Smart Phone/Tablet app is a breeze to setup, simply scan the QR code to begin mobile viewing. I feel that a little preplanning as far as electrical locations is the only thing that I needed to do for this to be easier.

I like that this Revo kit (model RWG41BNDL-1) comes with all I need for a basic DIY security camera setup, but there are pros and cons to the system. Included in the package are the 4 channel gateway, a 32 GB Micro SD card, 2 wireless bullet cameras that shoot in HD (1080p), and all the required cables (45” gateway power cable, 3’ ethernet cable, two 10’ power cable for cameras, and mounting hardware). Setup in the App is a breeze given the cameras and gateway arrive paired. The gateway cannot be connected directly to a monitor, but not a big deal for me. All monitoring is done in the Revo Wireless App for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch (running iOs 10.7 or later), Android, or PC; however, there is no app for Mac computers. Again, not a big deal although given the app is clunky, it might be easier to create and manage recordings on a screen larger than my iPhone 6s. As far as security camera’s go, the video quality is good (audio quality isn’t great). The 2.1 megapixel cameras, shoot 1920 x 1120 (1920 x 1120 = 2.15 megapixel) according to the website, which is confusing given the packaging says 1080p (FYI – 1080 is typically 1920 horizontal x 1080 vertical). Conversely, when I captured footage in the app while the iPhone was vertical, the footage was captured to a .mov file that was 640 x 640 (that’s not HD). When I captured the footage while the phone was horizontal (full screen mode), the footage was captured at 1135 x 640… still not true 1080 although it has the proper HD aspect ratio (16:9). The footage also looks pretty sharp as long as you're not zooming in. Perhaps the differences in file size are due to how compression schemes have been setup in the app or how the iPhone processes it… I don’t know for sure. Also, nowhere does anything mention frame rate. Either way, audio and video are out of sync most of the time in the captured .mov files. At the end of the day though, unless you’re shooting music videos with these cameras, it’s not that important. Also keep in mind that even with true HD video, if you zoom in on the footage, it will be “fluffy.” Images are relatively clear when you pause zoomed footage however. The cameras’ range in daylight is 250 feet, but once you’re beyond 25 feet, don’t expect to zoom in and get a crisp image. Night vision works well, but the range specifications for total darkness seem to be conflicting. According to the packaging, range in total darkness is 100 feet; however, the Home Depot website says 50 feet. Again though, beyond 25 feet don’t expect to zoom to anything too meaningful. While passive infrared (PIR) is decent at reducing false detections and you can select the sensitivity in the app, allowing the user to define the detection range would improve this product. A blocking feature, as it is sometimes referred to, would prevent false detection by things like trees blowing in the wind. Since there is no blocking feature, it would be helpful if the app allowed me to snooze alerts for a specified amount of time. I can turn off alerts for each camera in the app, but if I forget to turn the alerts back on, I could miss something important. The gateway records footage to the included 32 GB Micro SD card and will also accept up to a 128 GB Micro SD card. The Micro SD card can record up to 100 hours but keep in mind it only records motion triggered events (or non-triggered events you record in real time using the app). While the kit allows you 24/7 surveillance in real time, it’s not a continuous 24/7 recorder. Also, there’s no cloud storage/backup available, so should someone break into your home, steal your valuables (including the gateway), you’ll never know “who done it.” If you’re using these cameras to keep an eye on delivery folks, uninvited guests, house sitters, or neighborhood dog walkers (my favorite) who leave “gifts” in your flower beds, these cameras are perfect! Installation is fairly easy given the cameras are wireless, but don’t forget you still have to deal with the cameras’ 10’ power supply cable and side mounted wall wart. I found the easiest place to mount the cameras was near a window sill so that I could run the power cable (1/16” to 3/16” thick depending) between the window and sill. While the cameras are weatherproof, you should consider using a 2” plastic conduit to protect the wires from the elements if running them outside. It also defeats the purpose of security if someone can unplug the cameras plugged into an outdoor receptacle. Also keep in mind the cameras need to be installed so they can wirelessly connect to the gateway. According to the packaging, indoor wireless range is 400 feet and outdoor wireless range is 600 feet; however, in my experiences with these cameras so far, functional range depends on a lot of factors (walls, doors, windows, etc.). There were times one of my cameras had connectivity issues when it was only 60 feet away from the gateway, but there were plaster walls and 2 thick doors in between. I recommend using your phone to check wi-fi strength before mounting a camera (the gateway will likely be within 3 feet of the router which is why using your phone works). It’s great that the app is free, that it’s free to download events, and that Revo doesn’t have any hidden costs like some DIY security packages I’ve had. Again though, they don’t offer cloud backup or a blocking feature for detection range. While the iOs Revo Wireless app is a bit clunky and quirky at times, it gets the job done. Things that could be improved upon in the app would be to correct the grammar (for example, the record button says “Recording” instead of “Record,” and when recording stops it says, “Succeed to save recording”) and allowing the user to search events by time (instead of just by date). Customer service at Revo seems to be good. One of the cameras I received had a slight audio issue (static) and Revo sent me an entirely new kit so that I could package up the old one and send it back to them. Despite inconsistencies in specifications, the clunky app, and a camera issue, this seems to be a decent DIY system in my opinion given the nominal price. The kit does what I need it to, so overall I’m pleased with it.

I selected the Revo Smart Gateway security camera system because of the "wireless" feature and the small footprint of the NVR (gateway). Out of the box, the Revo system comes with everything needed to get the cameras online - including the SD storage card. Setup: - setting up the cameras was easy enough. Just install in the location. You will need A/C power just for the camera power. No other wiring is needed to the camera. - setting up the gateway (NVR) was also easy enough however it does need wiring to your home network as well as A/C power. The antennas on the gateway are strictly to communicate to the Revo cameras - not for wireless connection to your home network. - you complete the gateway setup using the Revo app therefore this system requires a smartphone. No option to see anything hardwired from the gateway. Use/performance: My intended application is a sort of backup to other security systems I use; a doorbell camera and a driveway camera. So I installed one of the Revo cameras at my driveway (outdoors) and one at my front entrance (inside front door). No WiFi distance issues with signal for either camera. The outside camera is at least 60 feet from the Revo gateway. Connection with each camera was super easy. Although the included instructions for the Revo system are lacking - the app is fairly easy to self navigate. Once the cameras were setup I then proceeded to setup each camera settings for motion detection and lighting and notification pushes. In app experience, clarity is very exceptional both in live view and recorded events. I do notice a lagging of the playback of recorded events - sort of like a time elapse playback. It's not bad, just an observance. I can't tell if this is purposeful for playback since I have not found any setting for playback to would adjust this particular issue. Audio works adequately. The two way is OK, though the speaker on the camera is somewhat lacking but it is not my intent of this system to hold a normal conversation though the camera. Alerts and notifications work very well and I find they are very frequent even though the sensitivity is set to the lowest. The app screen is OK. It can be overwhelming with all the areas to navigate on the home screen. The app does allow for tweaking of devices and creation of groups to allow for a simpler view. I have not successfully been able to view my group from a desktop. There is a feature from Revo that instruction to go to revowireless.com and setup your system (and cloud view?). I don't know if it is settings I am missing or complications with my system and Revo Wireless. Instructions are not very clear. I am OK with just the app view so I have not reached out to Revo customer service on the Revo wireless issue. I had expected the setup and software (app) to be more user intuitive but it appears that Revo wants you to reach out to customer service for specific guidance. The live views and recorded views do not have costs for them like other products. Keep in mind that recorded views are played back from the 32 GB SD card. There is a cloud storage option, however, I have not explored that option.
