I have a RUUD PROUH65 T2 RU375 - 15 heat pump water heater. Can this product be used with this water heater?. Is there any special instructions for installing with a heat pump water heater? Thanks
Hi, Hybrid water heaters use proprietary software to ensure the water heater operates at peak efficiency. The heater uses an algorithm to determine when the unit should begin a heating cycle. A typical heating cycle is caused due to a sudden drop in temperature at the bottom of the tank when the hot water is being used and the incoming water temperature is much cooler than the water in the tank. Because a recirculation returns warmer and sometimes hot temperatures back to the water heater, it can act against the programming of the hybrid unit as the inlet water temperature may not be cool enough to activate a heating cycle. This conflict often renders running the unit in Energy Saver mode ineffective and other higher power consumption modes will need to be utilized instead. Derius

Can the valve be at the cold water inlet of the water heater
Hi Steve and thank you for your question. Typically, this would be at the fixture farthest away from the water heater, generally the kitchen or master bathroom. Please speak with an installer / plumber for assistance.
I noticed that Rheem pump doesn’t have the LED light on the top cover like the Taco version of it. That light is on when the pump operates. How can you determine when the pump is on other than making the noise while operating?
