A: The heater draws 12 amps when heating. A 14 gauge extension cord is rated at 15 amps. A 12 gauge cord is rated at 20 amps. Don't buy longer than you need. I'd go with the 12 gauge cord and keep it short as possible.
A: Yes, you would just plumb this to the hot water side. Your faucet is your mixer. Cold on one side, hot on the other.
