I thought This was Great UNTIL
Fair Warning - I bought and Installed this until October 17, 2019. Worked great until we started to get the familiar brownish water. The kind you get when the Anode rod has expired. Try finding the anode rod listed anywhere on your owners manual for the 2.5 gallon water heater...there is nothing listed! So after an hour on the phone with Rheem, I find out there is one hidden under the bottom plate that one has to remove to actually see it. But after almost two years, it is impossible to remove even with heat being applied and using a breaker bar. Making this water heater headed for the trash - just another disposable item! Thank you Rheem! BTW, if you'r lucky enough to get your mystery anode rod removed, you will need a 0.750" x 10" magnesium rod. Pretty standard for RV units. Good luck!!!

This water heater was a perfect product for my overland trailer, I did replace the heating element with a 300watt dc element an a 12v thermostat. But it works perfectly heats the 2.5 gals in 30min only powerd by my 200watt solar panel. I know its not supposed to be setup like this but this has been on the moab trails pulled behind our jeep so it def can take a beating. I did add some insulation too the box and that made a huge improvement on keeping the heat in.

I'm very pleased with this choice, fits my need perfectly. I installed the Rheem Performance 2.5 gal 6-Year 1440-Watt Single Element Electric Point-Of-Use Water Heater in my new Storage Building. It is installed in a lower 15" cabinet next to a utility sink - making it a perfect fit for this application. If you use all the hot water, the little heater recovers quickly (15 minutes from cold to hot - much faster for cool to warm). I have used Rheem products for many years and they make excellent products. My father owned a Plumbing Service and Construction Company when I was younger and we sold a lot of Rheem Water Heaters up to 50 gallons and some 100 gallon commercials. I recommend this 2.5 gal water heater for applications that fit it's capabilities. Pat

I am using this tank as water storage for a seasonal solar outdoor kitchen and shower. I was hoping to be able to hold water hot until the following morning, but the tank is not that well insulated. During the day it does double the amount of hot water in the system and holds the water hot into the night. This is a passive system and I have no plans to connect it to 110 AC power.

I have been using this heater ow for 3 weeks. It certainly heats up the water very fast and really hot if you turn it up. It is 2.5 gallons so the really hot water does not last long but I only wanted it for rinsing dishes and utensils at the sink. My home hot water heater is a long distance so it take about 3 minutes to start getting warm. I connected the hot water line to the cold figuring that by the time the small heater runs out of hot water I would start getting hot water from my home heater. But, it had filled up with cold water because of the distance it had to travel. It would have been nice if they would have included some 1/2" pipe nipples but I made a trip to the Home Depot. It really fits nicely under my sink.
