I know it says 240v 30 amps, but do this unit needs a neutral, besides the the 2 hora and the ground?!
Hi, No, this unit does NOT need a neutral. It uses 240 volts, 30 amps, 2 hots + ground only. The XE50T10H45U0 is a straight 240‑volt resistive + heat pump load. Hi, The Performance Platinum 50 Gal. Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater (Model XE50T10H45U0) has a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) of 3.75, which is exceptionally high and reflects its outstanding efficiency. While UEF is the standard metric for modern water heaters, recovery efficiency, which measures how effectively the unit transfers energy to the water, typically applies to gas models. That said, this hybrid unit uses a heat pump plus electric elements, so its recovery rate depends on the mode it’s operating in: In Heat Pump mode, it’s ultra-efficient but slower to recover. In Hybrid or High Demand mode, it uses both the heat pump and electric elements for faster recovery. If you’re looking for fast hot water replenishment, switching to High Demand mode via the EcoNet® app or control panel will give you the best recovery performance. Derius
this was my question after digging the old heater appears to use $550 dollars of power and the new uses $150 75% savings but this will vary per house.
Can this be set to stay in electric mode in the winter? This will be in my garage that I heat and don't want it making my heater run more in the winter.
