This is a defective product - does not supply pwr
Ring should not be allowed to sell this product - they have acknowledged this is an ongoing issue - this doesn't supply enough power to the spotlight pro cameras and they will eventually enter a low battery mode (which is crazy for a hardwired camera) Shameful that Ring will only ship you a battery or a plug as a solution since they know any replacement camera will have the same issue

        Hi Alex.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how critical it is for your hard wiring to function as intended in order to supply power to your Ring camera so that you can keep a watchful eye on your property. It is critical for a home security device to have enough power to keep your device online and ready to protect you. Rest assured, we are here to provide you with a concrete resolution as quickly as possible.

It sounds like the device is not performing as expected. Convert your Ring USB-C Security Camera to hardwired with this convenient, weather-resistant kit. Simply install the adapter plate to your junction box, whether it's on a ceiling or wall, indoors or out. Then tuck any cables into the included mounting adapter for a clean, wire-free look—and angle your camera just the way you like it. Unlike a hardwired Ring Camera, a battery-operated camera does not use the electricity generated by the hardwiring to power its regular operations. Instead, it uses the provided rechargeable battery to detect motion and generate a live view. The charge from the hardwiring supplies a trickle charge to the battery. Depending on what functions the camera is performing, the battery may drain faster than the hardwiring charge can keep up with.

Since the amount of power used is dependent on your settings and the functions your doorbell is performing, here are a few tips to maximize battery life:

Keep the amount of time you're in Live View to a minimum.
Adjust your "Motion Settings" to minimize the number of false positive alerts.
Turn off features you may not use very often in the Ring app.
Check your RSSI. If you don't have a very strong wifi connection, your video doorbell may draw more power when communicating with your network.
Certain weather conditions might cause the battery to drain faster than normal.

As you mentioned in your review that you have a Ring Spotlight Cam Pro, we have included a link here to the instruction guide for installing the Ring Hardwired Kit for the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro: https://ring.com/support/articles/0vmnr/Hardwired-Kit-Setup-Guide-for-Spotlight-Cam-Plus-and-Spotlight-Cam-Pro-USNA.
