Hi Anna. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. Ring Spotlight Cam Plus is rated to operate between -5°F to 122°F (-20.5°C to 50°C). When temperatures drop below 32°F (0°C), the battery may not charge at all. The battery may stop working completely when temperatures fall below -5°F (-20.5°C), until temperatures warm up. When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges. You can find more information on Ring devices and extreme temperatures here: https://ring.com/support/articles/6nmmg/ring-devices-and-extreme-temperatures. Hi Dino. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The micro USB charging cable should be used to charge to removable rechargeable battery pack that is included with your device. Follow these steps to charge the battery pack for your device: Open the battery compartment: For Spotlight Cam Plus and Pro: Twist the battery cover at the bottom of the device counterclockwise to unlock and remove the cover to access the batteries. Use the included screwdriver to remove the security screw prior to removing the cover. View the installation article for details. Remove the battery: Press the metal release tab to unlock the battery and slide it out. Charge the battery: Connect the charging cable to the battery's charging port. While charging, your battery displays two colored lights, a solid green and an amber light. Charge the battery until only the green light remains lit. Reinsert the battery: Slide the fully-charged battery back into Spotlight Cam until it clicks in place. Close the battery compartment For Spotlight Cam Plus and Pro: Twist the battery compartment cover clockwise to lock it. After twisting the cover back on, replace the security screw. Wait for the device to power back on: It can take up to 60 seconds. If any additional information is needed regarding your question, please reach out to our community. Hi Sean. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. Ideally, your router should be within 20 feet of your Ring device. If your Ring device is far away from your router, you can use a wifi extender like the Ring Chime Pro or a mesh router like eero to improve the wifi signal strength. We recommend mounting the device at 9 feet above ground level for optimal performance. We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your question.
