Product Overview

The Pivotrim Auto Winder Replacement Trimmer Head by Rino-Tuff is a durable pivoting line bump trimmer head with Auto Winding technology that eliminates the need for spools. The head is made from carefully crafted glass-filled nylon for superior durability and abrasion resistance, it can withstand the extreme demand of any job. With its Pivoting line technology, the line bounces back when trimming against obstacles, instead of bending and breaking. So, trimming against hard surfaces such as chain-link fence, trees and concrete are no longer a problem. It can hold up to 23 ft. of 0.080in. line and diameters up to 0.105 in. With its Auto Winding technology, you never have to open the head, simply line up the arrows on the bump knob, insert the line, and crank. Giving you the continuous cutting benefit of a bump head without having to open the head or deal with tangling spools. That means cutting more with less downtime to get the job done faster, leaving you more time to do the things you want.

This trimmer head is very easy to install. It includes a written installation sheet, as well as a QR code to refer you to a YouTube video on how to install this on your trimmer. The only tool it required was a skinny flat-head screwdriver to lock the trimmer shaft down to spin the trimmer head off. It also includes a bunch of different adaptors to fit most any trimmer head on the market. Replacing the trimmer string is pretty easy because you DON'T have to dissasemble th e head to do it. Simply insert string through one side, even it up from other side and then twist head clockwise. Easy peasy!

Once you get through the instructions and get this head installed, it is going to be one of your favorites. The install is relatively easy after you get through the many different adapters and bolts that are furnished and figure out which ones fit your trimmer. I really like the fact that it will use any line from.80-.105. I have always used .095 and have a large stock of it. The winding feature for the line best feature of anything I have ever owned. Simply measure your line, align the arrows on the knob, push the line through the hole until the lengths are equal and turn the knob to wind it up. Nothing to disassemble and try to line up with a full spool of line in your hand. You do need to lock the head while winding. Not mentioned in the instructions but necessary. The bump to feed feature works well. In the instructions, it states to limit RPM to 10,000. But on the head it specifies 8,000 RPM. Also, there is no model number or type on the package, but the online videos tell you to make sure that you are using the correct video for your model. Also the package and the instructions each list a different website to go to for help. Kind of confusing. That said, the head is designed to fit 60 different trimmers both gas and electric. I know that it is going to be a time and aggravation saver for me.

The Rino Tuff Pivotrim auto winder trimmer head is a good idea that I would recommend but with a few caveats. First self help tip, go to Youtube and see how your trimmer model suggest how to remove the existing trimmer head. I tried to take my Echo apart where is showed a nylon nut and what appeared to be the both that I was supposed to screw the new trimmer head onto. After 30 minutes and quitting to pull a youtube video I saw how simple it was (locating hole on shaft to lock head and then hand spin old one off). This may be similar for most other trimmer models out there but check a video to be sure. Also, RinoTuff has a QR code on the instructions that link to a video. The paper instructions are worthless. the video make sense of everything. When picking the correct size shaft nut remember this is not a standard righty righty leftie lossy. Do the opposite and you should have no problem getting the new trimmer head threaded hand tight to the shaft. The last issue I had was that my Echo shaft was too long to mount up snug the to trimmer head. the enclosed plastic spacer was too large and I couldn't thread the shaft. So I have to get additional washers to build up teh space between teh shaft and the new trimmer head. I finally got everything together and it works fine. My observations are the plastic is not as tough as the Echo original head so I will watch this to make sure I have no cracks. The easy winding feature is nice and takes one of the jobs away that I hate when cutting my lawn. Plus the line no longer gets bound up and a slight tap of teh head and new string comes out easily. So use these tips and it should save you some time. If I didn't have as much time involved for assembly I would give this a 5 star review. Overall very good product.

This product may work for some people but certainly didn't work for my older Echo. Not a single attachment for correctly. There was one type of attachment that screwed in, but there was far too much wiggle. The directions stated to use the 1/4 washer but it doesn't fit in the housing. I really wanted this product to work but it just didn't. This echo trimmers continues to go but wanted to upgrade the head, unfortunately it didn't work out. Hopefully someone else can use it on their tool, or newer echo, but if it'd an older version, approx 25 years, then it wont for you. Head flew off after 10 mins of use since it doesn't seat correctly.

Out with the old and in with the new. I had a trimmer head that started to fail because the bottom will you tap on the ground to allow more string to come out ended up punching a hole over years of use and because of the hole dirt would get in so long story short this one I believe is much better than the previous one that I've had in the past. What makes this one great is it's a large head so it's going to have more surface area when you do bang it on the ground to extend more string The other thing I like about it is it's easier to turn in order to bring more string in and it also lines up the string for you because there's small arrows that let you know where the head needs to be when you start to install new string. Can't complain installed super easy tons of hardware to fit many different models if not all. Overall can't complain works great comes with string that's a bonus this is what you need when you have a trimmer head that is not working properly.

Using a Troy Bilt 4 cycle trimmer. TB415CS. First time using the product and I've had to take it apart 3 times and reinstalling it trying to get it to work. First time I ran it, plastic cord got pulled up inside. Had to disassemble it, unwind it and wind up again. Second time, the entire head unscrewed itself from my trimmer. Picked up the pieces and reinstalled. Third time, the cord now wraps itself around the trimmer's shaft, just above where it's installed. I can't win.

I installed this on my Dewalt 40 volt string trimmer after reading many reviews and being told that the Dewalt 40 volt string trimmer won't accept aftermarket string trimmer heads my own research and investigation proved the NO answer to be wrong. The correct answer is YES and this trimmer head fits and installed in less than 10 mins. So much better in my opinion than the factoey Dewalt string trimmer head. This should fit the Dewalt 20 volt string trimmer also I am guessing however I don't know for sure but it appears they both use the same factory trimmer head. Pic 1 is a pic of the Dewalt factory aluminum adapter that you need to remove after you remove the factory trimmer head by removing the 13 mm nut. The factory male aluminum adapter is left handed threads so you turn clockwise (to the left) to loosen and counter clockwise (To the right) to tighten. #2 female adapter in the Pivot Trim kit is the adapter for the Dewalt 40 volt string trimmer. The male and female adapters in the Pivot Trim kit are screwed together to save on packaging space. Pic 2 is a pic of the Pivot Trim Auto Winder installed on a Dewalt 40 volt string trimmer.

The top cover part of the Bump Feed head breaks very easy thus exposing the line passage and making it useless.
