Product Details

Rio is a bush-type Dipladenia which is beautiful, durable and low-maintenance. Trumpet shaped flowers stand out atop shiny green foliage. Bred specifically for garden performance, Rios are non-stop bloomers for planters, garden beds and hanging baskets. Very little watering required. With built-in water storage in the form of tubers, Rios store water beneath the soil. Rios enjoy 4 plus-hours of Sun daily but will also perform well in part-shade. No deadheading required, blooms will fade and fall off. Refer to plant tag for additional care. A: If using the 2qt size, and no other components in your planter, for full on flower power we would recommend 5-6 pots.

Q:I asked a question to which I did not get a specific answer. Can I leave this dipladenia in the actual pot it is shipped in? If so, for how long? In other words, do I have to move it to a different pot?

A: Yes, you can leave them in the originating pot with food and water they will survive as long as the season, which is until the first frost of autumn. If purchased in small pots like the 1qt or 1g size, transplanting those will encourage growth.
