Questions & Answers

will it survive a Wisconsin winter

Asked by: Debbi
No, Treat it like an Annual. Iam sure it could be brought inside for the winter like a geranium plant but don't think it's worth the effort.

Deer resistent?

Asked by: Rd
In Texas, the deer LOVE them! But we LOVE them soooo much we plant where we can somewhat control their access to them! These are BEAUTIFUL flowering plants. If you have anywhere you can plant so the deer can’t access, BUY THESE! 100% worth the price...we love them!

Asked by: Linda
They do try to climb, they climb up the chains on my hanging baskets, but I try to discourage them and wind them around the baskets.

I've planted these in my hanging baskets on my deck for 3 years and they have withstood all kinds of weather and blossomed for the entire summer and late into the fall. They don't mind the heat and since I have them in fiber baskets, you do need to remember to water them. But if it rains a lot, it doesn't bother them. I also plant them in baskets that are on the end of my deck and they do well there also. They are all in the sun and fill out well.

Had two last year for the first time, one in sun and one in semi-sun. BOTH did well but the one that had more sun grew larger. BOTH had numerous flowers on them and kept blooming all summer into the late fall. Plan to get many more this year. I had the red and the white.

However the vine style of this plant tends to grow all over the place, where the Rio variety appears to be a slower growing variety that is more manege able and organized.
