IF, the EVA foam floor tiles recommend a glue down always follow the specific install guidelines. If a high quality PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) is recommended during installation - Roberts 6300 can be used.

Is this product good to lay vinyil tiles on concrete?

I have only used for carpet tiles as it is made so it releases them so you can change them out as needed. I think your vinyl tiles move around as their backing is different than carpet tiles.

Answer

Thank you for your inquiry. You may want to consider 6700 outdoor adhesive. Once the concrete is prepped 6700 can be used to install indoor/ outdoor carpet (not carpet tiles) with the following Backings – Polypropylene (ActionBac®), rubber-backed (foam, marine, waffle), urethane and tufted, woven or non-woven/needle-punch. 6700 will bond to a clean porous concrete. Epoxy coating is not recommended. Subfloors must be structurally sound, dry, smooth, flat (≤ 3/16” within 10’), level and free of excess moisture/alkali and all substances (oil, wax, grease, paint, oil based sealers, adhesive residue, etc.) that may inhibit the bond of the adhesive or the performance of the flooring or its installation.

Yes, it will affect the ability to adhere to the concrete. I had painted my concrete floor and used a stripping machine with strip pad to remove the paint. I had no problem with the performance of the adhesive since I installed my carpet tile in March 2017.

How long do you have to wait to walk on the tile after glueing down? Do you need to roll over it once you put it down?

Asked by Jacki December 2, 2018

Answers

Once the PSA has been applied with the appropriate notched trowel and has been dried to the point of being tacky to the touch, approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on the drying conditions, the carpet tile can be placed and walked on. Even pressure over the carpet tile when installing is sufficient, Rolling isn't necessary but can't hurt.

Worked great for our carpet tile project. Easy to apply using an ordinary paint roller. It allows you to make either a permanent or semi-permanent bond depending on how long you allow the glue to set up before laying the tiles. We chose semi permanent. It turned out great!

Ordered and received within a week. I purchased it for my installers to use in installing 600 sf of LVP flooring. Installers had no complaints about product. Flooring has been down for just over a week, and I've moved furniture and flooring seems solidly in place. There were never any unpleasant fumes as glue was setting. The only reason I didn't give product 5 stars is that it didn't go as far as container said it would. Container said it would cover 680-760 sf when using a trowel, but installers used every drop and said I had just enough (though I don't know what size trowel they used). Overall, satisfied with product and would use again.

I bought this to use to install carpet squares I had in my basement laundry room. I initially put them down without glue, but they moved some and I wanted a better look. Roberts 6300 adhesive took care of the job. Easy to put down and yes, it holds well. This went down on concrete, some of it not totally smooth. But nonetheless, it is holding the carpet squares perfectly. Wish I had done this to begin with. One piece of advice. If you aren't going to do all of your project at one time, be careful and don't let anything lay on the adhesive where you've applied it and it extended beyond the section you need to glue. I let some carpet squares adjacent get in contact and it did what it was supposed to do ... it glued the edge down. Good stuff!

I purchased this for use with my recycled rubber rolls of gym flooring. The rubber is black and the adhesive dries white. I thought it may dry clear. Now I have patches of white all about the surface of my rubber floor where the adhesive "bled" through the porous rubber. I am trying to find something that can remove the adhesive from the rubber floor surface without damaging it. As far as other properties, it dries pretty slowly which may or may not be a good thing. It provided good adhesion. It offered me a chance to move the rubber panels around before it dried. The entire container covered about 300 sq/ft.

This was great to work with. The smell wasn't too bad, and it allowed you to pick up and reposition tiles while setting them. Very securely adhered after a couple of days cure time.
