I don't think you will like the finished look. The bags have handles which will show above the pot and this fiber is flexible and will not seat snuggly for a polished finished look in the decorative pot. I use my bags for growing food crops and the handles help if you have to move them for an unexpected frost or for more or less sun.

I want to get your larger bags 35-100 gallon to grow trees as their permanent spot, are these pots meant to hold fruit trees long term?

Asked by Linda May 28, 2021

Answer

Linda Yes our Boxer line of pots are 100% recycled water bottles and are meant to last many seasons so they would be great for your fruit trees. Thank you Sherry Dudeck Root Pouch

Are these good for growing asparagus? What size (or depth) is needed?

Asked by HH May 28, 2021

Answer

HH research recommends: Choose a large container, approximately 7 to 8 inches deep and at least 3 to 6 feet wide to accommodate the size of the plant at maturity. So that being said our #65 to our #100 gallon would work for you. thanks sherry dudeck Root Pouch

Thank you for your interest in Root Pouch products. Our Boxer Brown line of products is 100% recycled water bottles. Our Black line of pots is a mixture of recycled water bottles and natural fibers such as cotton and jute. The natural fibers give the pots a bit more breathability and can also be used in ground and in pot in pot applications. They are both excellent pot for the home grower Thank you Sherry Dudeck Root Pouch

I think they might work very well for that if you put a bowl under the bag to sit in water. I do that with plants that require staying moist. Otherwise they seem to dry out pretty fast.

Thank you for your interest in Root Pouch products. The navy, forest green and brown pots are all the same products. They are all made from 100% recycled water bottles and they are all meant to last many seasons. Home depot sets their own retails and they set the navy and forest retails at a lesser retail but they are all the same great fabric. thank you sherry dudeck root pouch

How do I know which size to use each plant? Tomatoes, Potatoes

Asked by Jane February 23, 2021

Answer

Hello, We have a farm to table guide on the root pouch website under "urban gardening". The bigger the pot, the more fruit you will get! I recommend #10/15/25 for tomatoes and a #35/45/65 for potatoes. Hope this helps & happy planting! -RootPouch

Are these bags rodent proof?

Asked by Nitisha February 21, 2021

Answer

Hello - Our pouches are fabric and we can not guarantee them to be rodent proof. We have had mentions about gophers previously & they had success by putting the pouches on a pallet, instead of the directly on the lawn/field. I hope this helps! - Root Pouch

These have worked amazingly well and were just what I needed. My husband and I were in a rental before we could move into our new house, but I still wanted to start a garden. I used these bags to plant my fruits and veggies, and was able to just pick them up and move them to our new home. All the plants have been thriving in them. I started with another brand of similar bags, they were more of a nylon, mesh like material. They're ok, but I find the soil dries out very quickly in those. With these root pouches, it's much easier to control the soil moisture. They don't dry out too fast - but I found out after a very heavy rain, they also don't keep the soil soggy. Highly recommend!

These work very well. I did a test by planting two identical bags and one has a thing under it to hold water. That one has grown much larger. I planted three celery plants in each. See photo

We bought a pack of these Root pouches (15 Gal). They're amazing! We're used them for our Plumeria and Fig trees. They look nice and will help us move the trees inside once weather stops cooperating. We've been using it for more than 3 months and so far no reason for us to complain! Highly recommended!

I really love these pots! I live in an coop and started a container garden this past spring. These pots make it easy to pick up pots and move around on my balcony for optimal sunlight. I currently have my tomatoes and peppers in the pots and they are rooting nicely.

I am a renter and wanted to put plants into a raised bed next to a plastic pond in a way that wouldn't be permanent - in case I move or in order to change the plants around as they thrive or fade. I am very pleased with these root pouches for this purpose. They are easy to use and provide good drainage - an issue in Florida's heavy summer rains. I was able to arrange the plants much better than I would have in rigid pots. Very happy with the purchase.

The product is as it appears. I have planted it up, now to wait on the results. So far I am happy with it. We were able to move it a little with it being filled with dirt. If I had more muscle I could probably moved it more.
