EPDM sheet rubber is a versatile blended sheet composed of Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer and Styrene Butadiene Rubber. It achieves an ideal balance to create an all-purpose, weather resistant rubber. For this reason, EPDM material is an excellent medium for outdoor uses. Furthermore, other benefits include great pliability and elasticity. It is easy to see that EPDM rubber is the premier outdoor rubber. The special properties of EPDM sheet rubber allow it to withstand chemicals in addition to weather-related hazards such as UV rays and ozone. As a weather resistant rubber, this EPDM sheet rubber is commonly used in industrial applications and machinery that are exposed to the elements. Damage from rainstorms, pollution, and the sun will occur at a slower rate compared to a fully exposed EPDM rubber when compared to other elastomers like SBR, Nitrile or Neoprene. EPDM rubber has adequate elastic and pliable qualities. The material has a durometer of Shore 55-65A but on average, has a Shore 60A measurement. A Shore A scale measures the hardness of the rubber. For example, a soft pencil eraser has a durometer of Shore 20A. Although higher than an eraser, the durometer of EPDM still maintains a good amount of flexibility for all of your necessary projects. In addition, EPDM rubber has a minimum elongation of 300%.

Hello Magdalena, thank you for your question! Yes, EPDM is the product that we recommend if its going to get used in sunny environment since it UV Resistant. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Best,
Hello Dean, Thank you for your question! The EPDM 60A rubber sheet you mentioned is durable, flexible, and resistant to weather, UV, and ozone, so it could be used on a low-pitch roof. However, these sheets are only 3 feet wide, so for roofing applications people often prefer larger rolls or sheets designed specifically for roofing to minimize seams and make installation easier. EPDM sheets like this are commonly used for gaskets, bumpers, weather seals, and other exterior applications, and they can provide good protection when properly installed. Please let us know if you need any additional information or assistance. Best, Robert Morris, Rubber-Cal Inc.

Dear Eric, Thank you for your inquiry. While our EPDM Rubber Sheets offer excellent UV resistance and are commonly used in the roofing industry, it's essential to note that our rolls are only 36 inches wide. Covering wood curbs on a roof with our EPDM sheets may result in multiple seams, potentially creating a barrier that is not entirely watertight. Traditional EPDM roofing membranes typically come in wider widths, ranging from 10 to 20 feet, to minimize seams and ensure optimal waterproofing. While our EPDM Rubber Sheets may still offer some level of protection, we recommend consulting with a roofing professional to determine the best solution for covering wood curbs on your roof. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out. We're here to help. Sincerely, Robert Morris Rubber-Cal
Hello LCGRACE, Thank you for your inquiry regarding the use of Rubber-Cal EPDM Commercial Grade 60A Rubber Sheet under a deck to create a dry space. We appreciate your interest in our products and your project's requirements. While it is possible to staple the EPDM Commercial Grade 60A Rubber Sheet under a deck to create a dry space initially, we'd like to provide you with some insights into its long-term durability in such an application. EPDM rubber, while flexible and weather-resistant, may not be the most suitable choice for this specific use case. Over time, the rubber sheet may experience wear and tear, which can lead to tearing, especially if it's subjected to frequent foot traffic or other forms of stress. For a more durable and long-lasting solution to create a dry space under your deck, we recommend considering a material like Rubber-Cal Cloth Inserted Sheet. We understand the importance of ensuring the longevity and effectiveness of your project, and we want to assist you in making the best choice for your specific needs. If you have any more questions or require further guidance, please feel free to reach out. We're here to help you find the right solution for your under-deck dry space project. Sincerely, Robert Morris Rubber-Cal, Inc.
Hello Frances, thank you for your inquiry. We are not sure whether painting would work on our EDPM Commercial Grade 60A Rubber Sheet. The only advice we have is to not use an oil-based paint, as this will degrade the rubber.
Hello Jack! Thank you for your inquiry regarding the compatibility of the Rubber-Cal EPDM Commercial Grade Rubber Sheet . In order to provide you with an accurate response, we would need more specific details about your question as well as the context in which it will be used. Feel free to share any relevant details, and we'll do our best to provide you with the information you need. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to helping you further. Sincerely, Robert Morris Rubber-Cal, Inc.
Hello, It is possible to use the EPDM Commercial Grade 60A Rubber Sheet as a tree band to prevent squirrels from climbing. Please note that we do not have any data to back up the use of this material for that purpose. It is very smooth but squirrels have sharp claws which could dig into the product for traction. Our EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) and SBR (styrene butadiene rubber) blended sheet is a black-colored sheet rubber that provides very good resistance to weathering, ozone, UV exposure. It is available with a smooth finish. Sincerely, Robert Morris
