Ficus elastica, also known as the rubber fig, rubber bush, rubber tree, rubber plant, or Indian rubber bush, Indian rubber tree is known for its stunning, dark burgundy, glossy leaves. Native to the tropics of Southeast Asia, these plants can get rather large. However, grown in a pot and indoors, they will grow slower. The Rubber plant gained its name due to their sap and rubbery appearance. Its sap is sometimes used to make rubber. These plants prefer bright indirect light and temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Great plant

Came more quickly than expected, was well packed and in good condition. I've had it for a couple weeks now and it's doing great! (The leaves have perked up a bit since I took the photo)

The plant arrived healthy and packaged very well. A couple leaves were bent and there are only 2 stalks (whereas the plant in the picture appears to have at least 3), but those are my only complaints. After some water and TLC the leaves perked back up and my new rubber plant seems very content!
