veryunappealing design, screws that are sold with brackets are too long and will protroud through the top of the shelfi had to use 1 1/4 self tapping screws to hpld shelf to bracket on the long holes in front of bracket, made in china. what can you expect.home depot try buying quality made in usa,try gorilla tape to hold brackets to shelves,
I used a screw to secure the shelf to the bracket. If was a challenging, frustrating and inelegant process, but I was able to get it done and think it strengthens the shelving system.
Each bracket has 2 holes in the bottom. you can secure the shelf with screws.
We used a little bit of gorilla glue on the end closest to the track. It has worked well so far. We have a 15 pound car who thinks they are there for him to walk across and they haven't fallen yet. .
No. The only hole is on the under side toward the skinnier/outside or front edge. As long as your screw isn't too long it actually works pretty good, or at least it did for me. Also, we installed several shelves and didn't worry about a screw into the shelf.

Yes.
Yes, they can be uninstalled. If you've attached the bracket to the shelf it carries with screws, you'll need to remove the screws first and then remove the shelf and bracket. I've done it to fine tune my shelves - it sounds worse to do than it is.
I used 1-1/4" #10 screws - they worked fine.
I was able to get a 1-1" #10 screw in the hole from the narrow end of the bracket to the shelf. I'm glad that I did - I believe it adds strength to the shelving system.
