Q:Do you have to stoop way over to hold the top handle while standing on the top step?
by|Dec 17, 2021

Answer This Question

A:  I do not- the top platform step is 29 inches from the floor- the top handle bar is 24" above that step, which brings it to mid-thigh on me when standing on the platform- quite comfortable for me to reach.

        Answer This Question

A:  No, the tray is too small to hold a regular size paint tray.

A:  I would think so but the project tray is not completely flat since it has a covered and open area that is recessed for small parts storage.

A:  My wife and I are both 72 and we do not see the steps as a problem. It is a light weight ladder; easy for my wife to move around. I would definitely recommend it.

A:  I'm 70, overweight and short. Works fine for me. The hand rails are everything. Most important thing to remember is to set it on FLAT floor/ground.

A:  I am definitely a senior at 77 and I use the ladder a lot. In fact I have two, one upstairs and one down stairs. I don't have good balance, but I find it very comfortable standing on the steps or the large platform. Just my $0.02 worth.

I have oly used it ONCE, and it's broken
I have just used it ONCE. I opened it and climbed up to put a box over a cupboard. Left it open and when I look at it again the handle is broken! And I have not even banged it, it seems the sides were too narrow and they simply snapped that part which is a flimsy piece of plastic. Disgusting and absolutely disappointing. I don't even know if it arrived broken but this is absolutely unacceptable. And I weigh 80kg. Now I have to return this useless bulky thing

I already owned 3 of Gorilla's Easy Reach 2-step stools for 3 yrs & I love them--SO light weight & sturdy. But my master closet has very high shelves, & I needed 1 more step to help me reach these shelves. This 3-step stool is just what I needed--It's really sturdy & just the right height--& so lightweight! And the project tray is just a convenient bonus. I love this stool!

          Great Step "Stool"
At about 4' tall, it's more like a step ladder than a stool. Semantics aside, it's a great product with lots of excellent features.... starting at the bottom with the thick rubber feet that not only prevent it from sliding, it won't damage your floors. The three rubber-clad steps are quite deep and very sturdy, and it's very solidly built overall. I personally think it would easily support much more weight than its 225 lb. capacity rating. The project tray at the top is very functional... there are several holes on the backside for small tools (screwdrivers and such); a magnetized area to keep screws and metal stuff from rolling around or will fit a quart-size can of paint; and a covered area with several small compartments so you can actually store stuff inside even when it's folded. Speaking of folding it back up, that's something that threw me at first... there's a little 'tab' on the backside of the top step that locks the legs in place when the ladder is fully opened. In order to close it, you have to push/hold the tab DOWN and then pull UP on the top step (see photos). That wasn't very intuitive (to me anyway) and there weren't any instructions included. That said, when closed, it only takes a couple inches of space so it's easy to store. It does weigh a bit more that I though it would, but I guess that's to be expected for something this sturdy. Get one; I truly don't think you're gonna find anything better in this size!!

          Strong and sturdy ladder
This ladder is made out of heavy-weight steel material, so it is on the heavier side. It is just the right size for me (5'4") to be able to reach our 9 foot tall ceilings with no problem while standing on the top step. I love that there is a plastic project tray that will hold screwdrivers, drills and hardware. The steps are made out of thick plastic with ridges, so they are easy to stand on and not slip. There is also a hook that locks in place when the ladder is up to ensure that it will stay in place.

          Sturdy and VERY lightweight
This step stool is a "type 2" rated step stool. From what I understand, "type 2" is a rating that indicates it can hold up to 225 pounds. I don't know if there is any other meaning to the rating. I found that this step stool is incredibly light weight and sturdy. It has three steps which makes it useful for many household chores. My home has eight foot ceilings so I could use this for pretty much every chore around my house without having to take out a bigger ladder. The step stool also has a tray to rest tools and other items. My main comment/praise about this step stool is how light weight it is. Almost anyone could carry this around without any difficulty. I don't have any criticisms of this step stool and I would definitely recommend it.

My most useful ladder so far.
What I like best about this lightweight ladder is the tool platform on top. I have used that to put my Ridgid Impact Driver and Ridgid Drill/Driver on while I work. It also holds a tape measure and heavy duty stapler. It is easy to move around. I do wish, like many other ladders, the bottom steps were large like the top step. That top step is large and makes it very easy to stand on to work for an extended period of time. Saves me having to put two ladders together and building a scaffold out of scrap lumber for a stable work area. I really, again, must say how much I like that tool platform at the top - saves me from climbing up and down the ladder just to exchange tools.

          Great Ladder!
This is a really great fold-up, storable ladder that is super useful! I've used similar ladders for painting, changing light bulbs, etc - so many uses! This one is super light, really well designed and very easy to store away in a hall closet or anywhere you might need a ladder. Finish is nice with the brushed aluminum and black plastic finish. Highly recommend!

          Very light and durable
This step stool is very light weight which makes it easy to take up and down the stairs. It looks really good, i've rubbed it up against concrete a couple times and it didn't scratch easy which makes me feel like it is going to be very durable. It also has a space where you can put nails and screws as you are working through a project which is super helpful. Overall I would highly suggest this product

          Another great product from Rubbermaid
So I have a clunky or aluminum step ladder that I have been using for years, but needed something that was not only more sturdy, but all around safer and easier to use. As a professional Health & Safety engineer, I can 100% say that this I one of the safest step stool that I have ever used. I way 230lbs and it can definitely hold my weight. The rungs (steps) are wide and have a nice traction design molded into them, and the grip handle allows you to easily keep three points of contact when on it. FYI, it also has a locking mechanism that with keep the stool upright when using it. Although I love the screw driver/tool holders in the front, my favorite part about the stool is the built in magnet that keeps screws, Bolts and nails secure to the tray. It also has a handy storage compartment with a lid to keep other items in place. The only thing that I found a bit hard to do was dip a paint brush in the can just because of how the grip handle placed. Other than that, I absolutely love this stool, and the height it gives you to reach just about anything. I 100% recommend it to anyone that is looking to purchase one.
