Does the track come with white mounting screws?

No but the screws are in the same vicinity as the rails.

These are called "Twin Tracks". Are they sold by the pair? In the store, some were taped together and some were separate.

No they are not, it means the brackets use have two of hooks because the track has two openings.

Can the twin track be cut to size? It is 2 inches too long for my space. If it can be cut to size, how?

I have used a miter saw and a dremel tool to cut it. If you dont have one, just but a cheap hacksaw.

Can this twin track hold 500 pounds per shelf or up to a total of 500 pounds?

I would like to install a bookshelving unit that is 70" by 48" with a total of 6 shelves using the Twin Track system. I would use 3 uprights at 24" apart. I plan to have 6 shelves. I am anticipating placing lots of text books on this unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from FastTrack Closet will fast become your frustration This is a difficult system to install, securing the shelves to the hanging brackets. It is no an easy job, it is very time consuming and frustrating experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have installed quite a bit of different shelves. So far these are the fastest and easiest to pu... I have installed quite a bit of different shelves. So far these are the fastest and easiest to put up. Not the best looking. One trick to get these and any other shelf as horizantally lined up as possible is to mark out a line with a level around the heigth of the top screw.Predrill on that horizantal line at the studs with proper spacing. Make sure predrilled hole is as sqaure and plumb to wall as possible.Add screw to top of shelf bracket and than level bracket vertically before adding another screw. Now each shelf is vertically and horizantally as good as it is going to get.

The tracks had a good coat of white paint on them and the pierced slots were burr-free. They were made from heavier gage metal and are strong. #10 flathead wood screws fit the countersink just fine. They went up in my workshop and will be loaded pretty good, but they are strong enough to take the abuse.

Very heavy duty- needs a rail at the top to align all strips which the online information did not mention or suggest as an associated purchase. This turned out to be much more than I needed so I returned it for Rubbermaid strips and brackets which use a single track of slots and less expensive.

What is particularly annoying about these is the UPC security stickers (two on the face of each!) that take so much time to peel off each. That took more time than attaching them to the wall. Come on, Rubbermaid, at least make the stickers easy to remove!
