After 28 years of mixing thin set and joint compound this is hands down the best mixer I have used .Smooth running and high in torque mixes full buckets with ease . With 2 ways of adjusting speed you can dial in on the one you prefer . Love the lock out on mixer to prevent accidental start up . The duel grips give you superior control . Mixer was easy to clean up and comes apart with wrenches included . The mixer comes with a great mixing wand with a smooth bottom to prevent you from getting plastic shreds in you thin set or joint compound . The great price was another selling point .

This mixer is a man among boys. Typically I use a cordless drill to mix thin set and grout. While the cordless stuff will do the job, they don't compare to this. I LOVE the grip allowing you to keep two hands on the mixer while you are mixing. You can adjust the speed with your thumb as you are mixing by using the dial on the right-hand side near the trigger. One of the other things that is really nice. It is 30 inches from the handle to the bottom of the mixing paddle. This is a very comfortable mixing height. If you are tiling a small bathroom or small foyer, then this is probably overkill. However, if you have a project where you are going to be mixing multiple bags or you have multiple jobs, then this is the mixing drill for you. The only con.....it may be too strong and too nice.....if that can be a con. ;o)

Powerful Mixing Drill With Great Ergonomics
Any contractor that regularly dealing with grouts, thinsets or mortar powders knows its very important to have a powerful mixing drill. After doing some research, I decided on the RubiMix 9 Grout and Thinset Mixing Drill. After using it several time I have been very impressed with the ergonomics and performance. The Rubimix 9 Mixing Drill has a powerful 10 Amp (1200 Watt) motor with a two-speed transmission and variable speed control. It comes with a 4 ¾ inch mixing paddle that connects directly to the motor spindle using the M14 connection. It also includes a ½ inch chuck attachment for use with paddles not compatible with the M14 Connection. An extra set of motor brushes are also included, along with several wrenches. The ergonomics for controlling the tool and changing the speed are very good. I especially like the low speed settings, which make it easier on startup. The Rubimix 9 Grout and Thinset Mixing Drill is an ideal tool for anyone dealing with powder mixes in the construction trade. Highly Recommended!!

An Absolutely Great Purpose Built Mixing Drill You Can Use!!!
You would probably never know you would need a purpose built mixing drill until you started using this drill. After using this drill, I don't know why I didn't get this sooner. It is an absolute pleasure to use. Everything needed to get started is included. These items include: Mixing Drill 2-piece screw in (threaded) mixing paddle 1/2" Chuck 2 Chuck Wrenches 2 Replacement Motor Bushings and Springs Instruction Manual The mixing drill incorporates a 1200W sealed, double insulated motor. The motor has 2 speeds giving you 0-620 rpm, and 0-810 rpm. The speeds can also be adjusted by an easy to use Variable Speed thumb wheel. The 2 speeds coupled with the variable speed thumb wheel virtually eliminates the powder spray when first mixing your materials, and is a very nice addition to have available. The dual handles have a rubberized coating assisting you in controlling the drill while mixing. This mixing drill will mix most materials such as grout, adhesives, resins, drywall compound, thinset, mortar, and cement. The added chuck enables you to utilize non-threaded mixing paddles you may already have. This drill weighs only 11 pounds, and having the dual handles greatly minimizes the effort needed to control your mixing. There is virtually no vibration while in use, and as a purpose built mixing drill, works so much better than your standard household drill. Overall, this is one item you should seriously consider purchasing for your next project requiring mixing. You'd be surprised at how many other uses this mixer can actually accomplish with great results. Very pleased, and Highly Recommended!

      Great Tool
My dad is using this drill to mix cement & grout as he is a tile installer. The drill is used to mix 5 gallons of product and it works great every single time with high speed and power. It was very easy to assembly. We simply twisted the extension parts on and tightened them. Cleaning this drill is very easy. Whenever we are done mixing, we put the drill piece in a clean water bucket and run the drill until the access product falls off. Overall, it is a great product because its strong and durable.

Great heavy-duty mixer/drill. Easy to use. No vibration. Perfect for mixing powder-based material and paint.
This Rubimix-9 mixer from Rubi worked where my blue and yellow brand drills failed. The 1200 watt motor, while powerful and relatively quiet, makes a faint grinding noise; like gears churning, that initially concerned me, but I believe is normal because I experienced no problems during use. This mixer is suitable for use with all powder-base materials such as thinset, mortar, cement, plaster and dry wall, but also works well to mix paint. The steel paddle with spiral design mixes materials quickly and completely without violently spinning the bucket or splashing the material being mixed. I especially like that this mixer performs double-duty as a heavy-duty ½-inch drill, and includes a chuck, a couple of wrenches and a pair of replacement motor bushings. The operation of this tool is smooth, free of vibration, and feels balanced in the hand, with the variable-speed control and on/off button conveniently located in the handle where they are accessible and easy to operate. The handle grip is comfortable, but plastic. Although I prefer a rubber grip, I typically wear padded gloves with a non-slip palm while working. While I am partial to the flashy red paddle, the paint is soft and chipped off the nut while installing the paddle to the mixer using the included wrench. While I think there is some room for minor improvement, overall, I’m satisfied with this tool, but not so much with the 60-page instruction manual containing translations of the original in a dozen languages. The manual had an abundance of safety warnings, but contained little information regarding use of the tool, so I didn’t find the manual to be particularly useful or informative, as it left me searching for answers to my questions from other sources.

      Real Timesaver
I'm in the middle of a bathroom remodel and have been mixing thinset by hand several times a week, so the arrival of this drill was greatly anticipated & it’s lived up to all my expectations. It made quick work of mixing 2/3 of a bag of grout and could have easily handled more. The drill is easy to use and it does a good job of thoroughly mixing the product –no pockets of unmixed material when you’re through. The directions leave a little to be desired, but assembly is pretty self explanatory, so it’s not a big deal. It’s slightly larger than I expected, but not as heavy as it looks. It’s easy to use and control, and it certainly expedites the mixing process. If you’re frequently mixing grout and/or thinset, you can’t go wrong with this drill!

      Awesome - downright awesome
I have smaller cement projects from time to time, and have resorted to a mixing basin and cement hoe. Never again! This tool is a gem. I checked the instructions and it did say concrete in the list of what it could handle, and it handled it shockingly well. With the adjustable speed it gave every possible power need you could have. The tool did not labor and I mixed a total of 1200 pounds of concrete in 10 batches of 120 pounds. I'd always add the recommended amount of water first, and then the concrete mix. For the first time in my life, I did not agonize at mixing cement. This tool was exceptionally easy to assemble and took perhaps two minutes. It also has a chuck included for further options - otherwise the include stirring paddle screw directly into the mixer. The mixer was very easy to handle and the controls are very accessible and user friendly. I cannot find even the slightest disappointment. Take good care of this mixing drill and it will take good care of you. No arm and shoulder fatigue. To clean the mixing paddle, I simply applied power to the drill while the paddle was in a 5 gallon bucket of warm water. It cleaned itself. As for the drill, a damp rag cleaned it to almost new appearance. This drill never got hot or smoked with all that work I put it through. With a laser infrared thermometer, the temperature of the metal housing on the drill was 74.3 degrees F. That sold me right there. I expected it to be too hot to touch and it was anything but that. The outdoor temp where the cement was poured was 35 degrees. For anyone doing grout, thinset, and small cement projects, I wouldn't be without this. I am sure it will work great mixing 5 gallon pails of paint as well with great speed control for managing the power.

      Exceeds my expectations
I've always used my 1/2 inch drill and universal paddle when mixing grout or mortar. The only complaint I had was even on high speed the drill runs too slowly. I saw this Rubi on HD's web site and decided to give it a try. The only assembly required is to screw the shaft to the mixer then the paddle to the shaft. Included are two spanner wrenches 19mm and 22mm. Also included are a 1/2 inch chuck, double threaded shaft for installation and a set of extra motor brushes. The controls are simple enough. There's a manual rotary Hi-Lo switch, a variable speed rotary dial, a saftey button and an on-off button. When the manual speed control is set to Low speed the paddle will run between 0-620 RPM, on High it runs 0-810 RPM. Speed is controlled by the rotary dial. The mixer ships with a 120mm paddle and an optional 100mm paddle, pictured below, is available from Home Depot for $10.68. The model number is 24959. When installed the included 1/2 inch chuck allows for the use of any other paddle or accessory. The machine runs smoothly, is capable of more RPM than I'll ever need and has plenty of power. The manufactures warranty is two years and the instruction manual s printed in 27 languages.
