I had a 7 year old primer spill and got this Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper because I suspected that over 7 years it had cured and would be a challenge to clean up. The area covered by primer was about 5 square feet. After application, I waited 30 minutes and tried to scrape some of it up. It was working, albeit very slowly. As time wore on, the stripper seemed to be slowing down. After 5 hours the process had not started to wrinkle the primer as indicated on the bottle. I had to leave, so I let it work overnight. The next day, about 24 hours after I started, I was amazed that the primer easily scraped off the floor. I cleaned up the bulk of the residue and poured a little more on the spot to finish the job with a scrub brush. I used about a half gallon on this old spill. See my pics for a storyboard of how this went.

Thank you for sharing your feedback! To ensure the best results with Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper for Concrete, we recommend reapplying the product as necessary to keep the entire surface covered with a thick layer of Paint Stripper. Older, more difficult coatings may require more time and product to properly remove. One gallon of Paint Stripper will cover up to 75 square feet. Results may vary based on substrate texture and porosity.

    Not working for me.
I poured it on my cement patio and let it sit. Now I cannot even get the white rustoleum off my cement. it made it so much worse. I do not know how to fix from here.

Let's see what we can figure out Gini! Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper For Concrete is used to remove paint from concrete surfaces, it should not be allowed to dry on the surface. Apply the stripper as directed on the label, lightly moving the stripper around on the surface with stiff bristle brush to ensure even coverage. Reapply the product as necessary to keep the entire surface covered with a thick layer of Paint Stripper. To remove the dried stripper from your concrete, reapply as directed on the label, then rinse thoroughly. If you continue to experience issues, give us a call at 888-683-5667, we would be happy to assist you.

      Mr. Disappointed Customer
Wanted to try product. Out of stock. Chose Citrus Strip instead. Pretty good results. 2nd half of basement floor. I used this product. Terrible. Did not take off layers of paint. Citrus Strip did a much nicer job and easier to cleanup. I went back over the entire 2nd half with Citrus Strip with excellent results. Shame on you. Rusto! I want my money back.

Let's see what we can figure out Joe! Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper For Concrete is designed to easily remove paint, stains and film forming sealers from garage floors and other concrete surfaces prior to applying a new coating. Apply the Stripper full strength directly onto the floor in a thick layer, lightly move the stripper around on the floor with a stiff bristle brush to ensure even coverage. Do not scrub. Apply more product to areas that appear thin. Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper must remain on the surface and be allowed to penetrate all of the layers of paint or stain to be removed. Re-apply the product as necessary to keep the entire surface covered with a thick layer. It may take 30 minutes to 5 hours for the coating to detach from the surface depending on the type of coating being removed. Floors with multiple layers or more aggressive coatings will require the longest time.

For the amount of sq ft I needed to remove the paint I had a 12 x 15ft patio, this is not the product you want. It needs to be applied in a thick coat to be able to remove two coats. I would have needed gallons of this to realistically remove all of the paint on the patio.

DONT BUY!!! Being the handy guy that I am, I never write reviews but I feel I need to on this product. I used 4 gallons of this to remove a water based sealer on my garage concrete floors. It did nothing but make a bigger mess and problem. Followed the directions clearly and all it did was make the floors very VERY SLICK! Guy at Home Depot said it was the best product out there and what a joke that was. The employees of HD I feel like need to be better trained on what products work besides pushing a "named brand product" that doesn't work. I ended up having to rent a concrete floor grinder as well as use my power washer to get the sealer removed. Wasted my entire weekend that only had 1 layer of sealer on it. Wasted $140 on this product for NOTHING. Would have more fun wasting that money at the casino.

Let's talk through this, Kyle! Once the coating of Rust-Oleum Paint Stripper for Concrete is visually wrinkled, it is ready to be removed. Test an area to see if it removes easily with a scraper. If it does not remove easily, apply additional product to the surface. It may take 30 minutes to 5 hours for the coating to detach from the surface depending on the type of coating being removed. Floors with multiple layers or more aggressive coatings will require the longest time. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5 Rustoleum

Works surprisingly well! I got this product with low expectations, and they were exceeded on all fronts. I used this to strip multiple layers from the conrete slabs that serve as the balcony ledges in a duplex I am working on. It cut through multiple layers in relatively cold weather with an ease and at a speed I did not expect. The product is about the same consistency as standard paint stripper products, so learning how to work with it is easy. I can definitely find multiple uses for this stuff.
