Great for crafts!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great spray paint for my craft projects and much more! It goes on easy and very fast drying. The aged gray color matt finish goes with most of the farm style crafts that I do. Can’t wait to redo an old metal locker with this amazing spray!

Easy to use and great coverage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It seems like the worst part of painting is the prep plus all the stuff you need. I got Rust-Oleum Chalked Matte Spray Paint and got my project done in a snap! I had a little wooden stool that I used in the screened porch as a side table. It was looking quite weathered. All I had to do was wipe it clean and spray with the Rust-Oleum chalk paint. I love the finished product. I only went with a single coat because I like the way the natural wood highlighted the finish. No fuss and no mess to clean up. Great product!

Great Chalk Paint!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this spray paint. It covers so well and looks great. With just one coat, it was covering my metal table so well. It did not take long for it to dry either. I went back to spray a second coat, and it was done. It did not need a 3rd coat. It also was so easy to spray on without running. For my table, I did not completely use up one can of paint. One can goes a long way! Great paint!

Excellent work

Great Coverage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this product to repaint an outdoor metal table and chairs. The paint sprayed on evenly. The coverage was consistent with no drips. It was hard to get to all the nooks and crannies but the Rust-oleum did a fine job. Rust-oleum is the only spray paint I use.

Fast and easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this was my first time ever spraying a piece of furniture, a lot of my friends started spraying some of their furniture a few years ago
Just to update it and give it a fresh look , it also cost a lot less then buying new furniture, so I decided to give it a try , I had this old ugly side table in my basement that I was going to throw out , so I started with that , it definitely looks a lot better then it did , I chose a light gray color, my friend used rust oleum but it’s in a tin , the spray paint just seemed easier for me , I did not sand the side table , I just started spraying it , you have to shake it a lot , it was easy to spray and it came out evenly, and I love the color, I am definitely going to use this on a lot of furniture that I want to update and I am going to tell my friend she should start using the spray can , it was just so easy and fast , and it was dry in 20 minutes , I am so happy with the result, I just wish I took a before picture, so I just have the after

YOU MUST WAIT 48 HOURS FOR BASE COAT TO DRY!!
You must let base coat of chalk paint dry for 48 hrs or this clear matte spray will bubble, crack, and strip the base coat off. I found out the hard way and now have to start over. Very disappointed.

Rust-Oleum Chalked Clear Coating be recoated within 1 hour of the previous coat or after 48 hours has passed. If you recoat before the first application of paint has skinned over and begun to dry to the touch, the two coats will dry correctly. However, if recoated at the wrong time, it may wrinkle blister or crack, which sounds like what you are experiencing. Simply put, to apply a second coat, the first coat must be very dry or very wet - never in between. To fix this, try sanding the surface, wait 48 hours and apply again.

Do NOT use
Ended up needing 5 spray cans for a medium size dresser. Cost way more then wax. Was NOT EASIER to use. Made my smooth finish rough & bumpy. Worst part, you need 3-4 layers otherwise you have discoloration & the stores are out of stock so it’s not done

Thank you for sharing your experience, Tori. Each can of Rust-Oleum Chalked Protective Topcoat Spray covers about 12 square feet and a minimum of 2 coats is recommended. It sounds like you're experiencing dry spray. This is when the product dries before it hits the surface of your project. This occurs most often when users hold the can too far from the surface when spraying - our recommendation is 10-16" from the surface. Effects of dry spray can also happen when temperatures are too high or too low. You can try using a lint-free rag slightly damp, and gently wipe the surface to remove the dusting. If it's still rough after doing that, you'll want to sand the surface with 180 or 220 grit sandpaper and make sure it's clean and dry before recoating. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5
